As part of our 1960s Jubilee celebration we had a look at old money. We sorted the coins in order from Queen Victoria all the way through to Queen Elizabeth II.

A wee reminder that P4 are going swimming every Tuesday afternoon.  Please remember to bring a towel, a swimming outfit and a bag for the towel to go in.

P4 have been asked to bring in a soft toy on the 7th, 8th and 9th of June.  We will be using this toy in our novelty race and would like to practise with it before the big day!

We had such a great afternoon celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. The cakes were yummy and the dancing was great fun. We made a large conga line. What a great way start to our long weekend.

Last week the children decided that they would like to learn about 1960s fashion. They designed and created their own clothes and accessories. We learned that men wore wide ties.

We create a silhouette  of the queen. We got to choose the type of media we used.

Last week we were writing a persuasive letter. A huge well done to our VCOP champions.

We were using the skills we learned during our outdoor learning last week to complete a textbook page. We used our right angle testers to see if the angles were smaller or bigger than right angles or if they were right angles. We recorded our answers.

We had the best time at Dumfries House yesterday.  Among our favourite activities were honey tasting and clapping the pigs.  We loved looking at the bees and found out some really interesting facts about them. Everyone was impressed with our knowledge about the farming industry.  Mrs Petrie was so proud of us!

Today we began a block of work on athletics.  We were running and jumping over hurdles.

We also developed our standing long jump skills and tried to beat the length of our jump. We had a go at passing the baton.
