We had a think about the type of job we would like to do and the skills that we would need.
Later we created a word cloud to show the different careers we could think of.
We have been creating circuits and using symbols to represent them. We predicted what would happen to a light bulb if we increased the number of batteries in the circuit. We then tested to see if our predictions were right. We also learned about open and closed switches and circuits.
We had a guess at the universal symbols and then recorded the correct symbols on our sheet.
We made working circuits.
We then drew our own circuits and asked our partner to state what we had drawn.
We had a discussion about the following question – Should we wear cycle helmets?
Before the discussion we had time to record notes. These notes helped us think about what we wanted to say.
We used sheets with our names on to make sure everyone got a chance to speak and share their ideas and thoughts. We worked in groups of 3 or 4.
We have just finished a block of work on objects and colours and are recapping this week and next week on the days and months to link in with our block of learning on time in maths. We have been focusing on reading and writing in French as well as speaking. Here are some examples of activities we have been doing.
We came into the class to find a message on our whiteboard. We went into the playground to find Mrs Twit’s eye.
After searching we finally found it! We weren’t impressed with her spelling, handwriting and punctuation.
We then worked with our partners to type a letter to Mrs Twit. We made sure to include all the features a letter needs and asked her some questions.
Mrs McNulty is delighted to share that this year’s Regional Burns Competition will be held in Belmont Academy, Ayr on Saturday 11th June 2022.Â
The competition will take place in 5 different disciplines:
If you are interested in taking part in this competition please see the main blog for more information and the form you need to complete.
We have been looking at the book Above and Below.
Working with our partners we used a venn diagram to sort/classify animals.
Once we had placed our animal on the venn diagram we then had a chat about any animals that were in the wrong section and moved them.
Back in class we created our own venn diagrams using either words or pictures.
We then listened to information from the book and recorded some facts in our notebooks.
