Good morning P4. Looking forward to another day of learning and seeing what you all are doing. Your assignments for today and tomorrow will go live at 10am and the hand-in time will be 4pm on Wednesday for all of them. I have put the closing date for them to be Friday 15th May at 4pm. I will be on here between 11-12pm and 2-3pm to answer any questions you have regarding work or if you just need a chat.
Yesterday I set Thomas the task of giving you a daily challenge and it was such a shame that nobody participated in this. Let’s try again today and see if you can look at his challenge on the Playground Channel. It will only take you a few minutes and is good fun. You can also go on YouTube and do Mr Colvn’s Daily Daft Challenge. Have a fun day.
*Can I please remind you that if you do upload your work on your e-portfolio that you let me know through the post on Teams*
Numeracy Tuesday 12th & Wednesday 13th May
Complete the number problem (257 – 124) or (68 – 37). Remember to write the title of which strategy you are using in each box. You can write directly on the Number Talks sheet below and upload or write on a piece of paper, take a photo and upload it to your assignments. You can choose from:
*place value partitioning
*keep a constant difference
Use the link below to help remind you of the strategies.
Look at the worksheets from yesterday on subtraction with exchanging sums and complete some more of them. If you have finished them all then you can make up some of your own if you want- remember to try and challenge yourselves.
Again, don’t worry about doing on squared paper- plain paper will be fine. *Remember to show your workings, not just the answer.
Numeracy Day Wednesday 13th May
- Try to make up some of your own games for numeracy for you and your family. I have included some pictures of games to give you some inspiration.
- Have a look at the link below for some Lego Maths ideas.
- Complete the Numeracy Scavenger Hunt *instead of a dime find a £1 coin*

Literacy Tuesday 12th May & Wednesday 13th May
Weekly spelling words
Choose 5 of your spelling words from Monday and write a great VCOP sentence for each one. Try to use connectives in each sentence. Complete on a word document or piece of paper and upload to assignments. Remember to ‘add work’ and ‘hand-in’.

Select any activity from the grid. Use words from your weekly spelling words and any ‘y’ (gym) words you have found on your own.

Handwriting
Practise the alphabet in cursive handwriting and then write words that contain the join ‘an’ (bang, sang, ant).
You can upload all these at one time when you have completed them or you can upload when each one is completed. You will need to go back to complete assignments and ‘add work’ and ‘turn in again’.
*Remember you can also write your own limerick from the Challenge Calendar, although it is optional.
Bug Club
Continue with your reading book and comprehension. It is really important that you make sure you read the questions properly and try to answer in as much detail as you can.
*Remember you can upload each part as you do it. You can then go back to completed assignments and add more work as you go along*
Treasure Hunt
Create a treasure hunt for someone to complete that will lead them around the garden/house and to a final destination. Each clue can be geared to a nature reference, family activity reference (swing, garage, flowerbed, etc.), or possibly as a treasure map complete with numbered paces, geographical direction and an “X” to mark the spot! You can download treasure maps from the internet as well.
PE Challenge
Follow the instructions below and you can upload your score on the assignment or you can post on the General chat if you were a Gold, Silver or Bronze. Remember to click ‘hand-in’ on assignment so I know you have completed it.
Feel free to complete the daily Joe Wick’s programme or the one Mr Smith put on the Blog.
Challenge Calendar 12th & 13th May
*This is an optional assignment*
Over the next two days the challenges are Limerick Day where you can come up with your own limerick poem and Numeracy Day where you can practise your numeracy skills (check out Numeracy assignment). You can photograph what you do and upload it your assignment or post on the General chat. Remember to click ‘hand-in’ so I know you have taken part.
