I n d o o r s –

As the children have been exploring various animals, some children used the ipad to investigate the terms used for mother/their young. Some children created their own images of animals and began discussing the need/care and nurture of living things. They then began discussing where their foods come from at lunch time, this progressed into ‘Farm to Fork’ topic. All children demonstrated an awareness of healthy foods particularly fruit and vegetables and were challenged to identify other food groups. Some children were able to use construction materials effectively to construct their own habitats, using mathematical language throughout.

In the art area the children began drawing/creating their own pirate ships with various mark making resources. This led to the discussion of treasure maps where they then created their own treasure maps. From this they used google maps to find their own houses within the local community.

O u t d o o r s –

Outdoors stemming from interests, some children created their own foam potions in the mud kitchen, using our own grown herbs, using their senses and descriptive language throughout.

All children were involved in creating their own bubble wands. They were able to problem solve, research to determine the process of their creation and what was hindering the process from being successful. The children enjoyed exploring with their bubble wands in the outdoor area, sharing and turn taking with their peers.
