The Woo in the Wild Woods – An Introduction

Introduction to The Woo in the Wild Woods by Ayrshire author Greta York

The story shows us that we have the power to help others and that, if we all work together,  no problem is too big for us to solve. It can be read and enjoyed by readers working at Early and First Levels.

The Woo in the Wild Woods is the story of Jamie, who wants to become a junior wizard but he needs a familiar (difficult for a boy allergic to furry animals!).  He travels to the Wild Woods in search of the Woo who, apparently, can help his “familiar trouble”.     On his journey through the woods  Jamie meets many wild creatures in need of his help.  He kindly uses his magic to solve their problems. In turn, the creatures from the Wild Woods and the Woo help Jamie.

You can see Greta reading the story in this video made especially for us.
