Bismarck Battleships

Battleship Bismarck played a significant role in World War 2.

This lesson was developed as part of a World War 2 topic, you can of course just use the grid to learn about co-ordinates.

For teachers, this activity can be used to help deliver Es and Os in the CfE MNU curriculum at First  Level in Angle, Symmetry and Transformation,  MTH 1-18a.

Watch this video clip which details some of the dramatic navy movements during WWII.

Use Bismarck Battleships grid sheet to mark where your ships are, make sure you write the co-ordinates in the boxes below the grid. Remember to get the co-ordinate you go along the corridor and up the stairs…  the horizontal line is the x-axis and the vertical line is the y-axis.
