Eco Schools Scotland has created the One Planet Picnic as a celebration that is
good for you and good for the planet..(and) is a fun way to make your food and drink choices environmentally friendly.
You can register your picnic, receive a support pack and find a step by step guide to getting organised with up to date government advice on gatherings and food hygiene here:
Eco Schools Scotland – One Planet Picnic
The 2020 mass One Planet Picnic is scheduled for 17th June. But you can have your picnic anywhere and anytime. You don’t have to register your event but do share a photo, recipe or tip on social media and tag #OnePlanetPicnic @EcoSchoolsScot @KSBScotland.
Normally, we might be able to organise a picnic with our classes and perhaps hold it as a celebratory event to mark the end of the school year and the start of the summer holidays. Of course, these are not normal times but we can still hold a virtual One Planet Picnic this time involving families and carers.
As a starting point use the you can use One Planet Picnic -Guide
or one of our lesson plans
investigating Food Miles HWB Food and the consumer 1-35a
or Planning a Picnic HWB Planning for choices and change 1-19a
the plans are aimed at First Level learners but can be adapted to meet the specific needs of your learners.
