Congratulations to our Athletics Team who finished 3rd overall in the final today. The pupils gave their all in an extremely close event with only 60 points separating all four finalists. Thank you for to everyone who was able to come along and offer their support. The pupils were great ambassadors for the school #goteamjimmy or in the words of the pupils “no Jimmy, no party” 🎉
We did it! We have qualified for the Sportshall Athletics finals for the second year running. JHPS finished 3rd overall out of the 25 schools that entered. We would like to thank the Parent Funding Group for the new Athletics resources that allowed us to practice for the event. The finals will take place at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena on Friday the 16th of February at 10am. We would love if the parents/carers of the pupils could come along and offer their support.
We would like to highlight the success of our new Sport Leaders, which we have been piloting this session. All P7’s have had an opportunity to help deliver PE to our P1 and P2 classes. This has helped not only develop their leadership skills in areas such as communication, leading and colloborating but has also allowed them to build relationships with our younger pupils, contributing to the nurturing ethos that we promote here at JHPS & SnaCN
A huge well done to our Athletics Team who came out on top today in the Sportshall Athletics Heats at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena. We now need to wait and see if we managed to get enough points to qualify for the final 🤞#goteamjimmy
We would like to thank Active Schools and their volunteers, as well as, all members of staff who have given up their time to deliver After School Clubs. Pupils were asked what clubs they would like this session and we have tried to accommodate all our young people with an opportunity to join at least one club. We will continue to offer a variety of sports clubs until the end of session.
Our boys football team had a blast at the Festive Futsal. We would like to thank Charlie Adams from the Grange for another well orgnaised event. All school football will now stop and we will return with the girls training on the 15th Jan and the boys on the 16th of Jan. Additionally, we would like to say goodbye to one of our young players who is moving away to South Africa 🇿🇦. He has been an amazing ambassador for our school sport and an awesome Sports Leader to our younger Pupils. Good luck on all your future endeavours! 🙌
Our Primary 7s had a great time at Scotland’s oldest club based here in Kilmarnock. We would like to thank the coaches on such an amazing session as we continue to build pathways to local clubs here at JHPS. Pupils said it was “interesting”, “I loved flipping my friends” and “I liked the coaches demonstrating a fight”. We hope to go back in the new year with another stage.
We would like to thank Paul from UKTC for delivering taster sessions to our pupils in P3-6 and Gaelic Classes. As always, pupils had a blast!
We are always looking to build pathways to our local community clubs, if you know of any Clubs that would like to come and give taster sessions at the school then get in touch with Mr Shaw via the office.
We would like to say a huge thank you to The Killie Community team who having been working with our P4’s and P5’s over the last 4 weeks delivering football and also for providing an after school club. The kids have had a ball and are all the better for the experience 🙌
