PE Star of the Month
Congratulations to Jayden in P3 who won the Great Attitude Award for PE Star of the month for November, and to Athena in P2 who won the Skills Award for the month of December. James and Blair from the Sports Committee were on hand to present the awards to our young stars
Basketball Festival
Congratulations to our P5 Basketball Team and to Deco and Samantha, our HND students, who came out in first place at the Basketball Festival hosted by the Ayrshire College. The students have been in working with our pupils during PE time and provided an after school club in preparation for the Festival. The pupils were over the moon to return with the trophy! Good job to all involved!
PE Star of the Month
Well done to James from G5 who won the Sportsmanship Award for PE Star of the Month for October. Fallon from the Sports Committee was pleased to present the Award.
Match Day Experience
We would like to thank Kilmarnock Football Club for our Match Day Experience at Kilmarnock V Celtic. Primary 7 had chosen Sport as a topic to study in Term 1 and they had asked if they could attend a sporting event to which the club kindly agreed. This was a match day first for many of the pupils and they got to enjoy a Killie Pie and juice at half time. A great time was had by all, only pity was the score. Mr Shaw did however get to be Killie fan for the day and wear the new 3rd jersey
Cross Country Championships
We would like to congratulate our P7 and P6 Cross Country Teams who all finished in the top ten schools in the team events. Of special mention was Teyla from P6 who finished second in her race. We would like to thank Mrs Espie and Miss Walker for all their hard work on coaching the teams.
Pheonix Taekwondo
We would like to thank Scott Macmillan from Pheonix Taekwondo (based here at JHPS) for the taster sessions to various classes in school. We have been working with Scott to create a new pathway club. The club begins on the 26th of November. All pupils who had taster sessions have been offered an opportunity to attend the after school club. The club also looks to involve parents/carers as participants if they so wish. The club has proven to be very popular and Scott has agreed to run an additional 4-week block next term to accommodate everyone that has applied.
