First Day At School – Monday 21st August 2023
On Monday 21st August the children will have their first day at school. On this day, children will come to school at 9:30am.
We ask that a maximum of 2 adults per child attend on the first day. Please feel free to take photographs in the school playground but parents/carers won’t be allowed in the classrooms. First day photographs from the class will be taken by the teacher and will be sent home at the end of the first week.
Children should line up outside their classroom door in the playground and the teacher will greet the children and lead them into their classroom. It is helpful if a parent/carer brings the children into the playground to line up with their class on the first day. They should stand away from the line and wave as the children go in with their teacher as we encourage independence in our playground and lines.
On the first day, the children should be collected from school at 2:30pm. Classes will be dismissed into the playground from their classroom door.
Tuesday 22nd August 2023 & Wednesday 23rd August 2023
On the second and third day of Primary 1, all children will come to school at 9:30am and should be collected at 2:30pm. Classes will enter and exit the class as on Day 1.
Arrangements from Thursday 24th August 2023
From Thursday 24th August, pupils in Primary 1 will will be in school from 8:50am – 2:50pm. Children should line up outside their classroom door each morning in the playground and will be collected by their teacher. Classes will be dismissed from their classroom door at 2:50pm.
We are thrilled to be able to share that as part of the William McIlvanney Campus, we have been awarded Promethean Ambassador status! A huge well done to all the staff as we are the first Ambassador site in Scotland!
