Tuesday 20th December – we are hosting our first Nativity/Christmas show. This will be from 10-11am. There are 2 adults allowed to attend for each child. Please come to the ECC playground.
I must insist that parent/carers DO NOT film or take pictures of their child during any performance. We will take pictures and record, this will then be put on children’s learning journals. We ask that this is NOT posted on any social media sites.

On Wednesday we will be celebrating St Andrews Day. The children are welcome to wear a touch of tartan if they wish.
We may try a few of our Scottish favourites such as haggis, neeps and tatties and a wee bit of shortbread. We will also explore Scottish tartan – have you got your own tartan? Perhaps you could show your child the colours before next Wednesday.
Any questions please speak with a member of staff.
The Solihull Approach has been used for guidance in early years for quite some time. They also offer lots of support for parent/carers. We have been given free access to courses available on the site and I recommend taking full advantage of this.
I have attached a link below that will take you to the site where you can complete courses in areas you may be unsure about with your child. For example, understanding your child, understanding their feelings and more.
If this is something you would be interested in, all it will take up is some of your time. Please click on link and apply the access code TARTAN. This will lead you to make an account.
We will be hosting a pyjama day this year for Children in Need!! Please come along to ECC on Friday in your PJ’s and why not bring along your favourite teddy.
We will have activities such as face painting and making biscuits. If you would NOT like your child to have their face painted, then please let a member of staff know.
If you would like to donate £1 you can do so, and this will be taken to the main office.
I am delighted to share our plans at Christmas within the ECC.

A wee reminder that parent appointments are this week, and the flu immunisation is on Thursday. I have no further details regarding times for flu immunisation as it is a team that is coming into the school to provide service. I would imagine it will be in the morning from 9am but once I have further information, I will of course let you all know.
Yesterday afternoon you will have received home with your child a flu vaccination form. In previous years this would have been done at your GP surgery. We are now within a position to offer this in the school for Early Years however, an adult MUST come along and be with their child before it can be administered. Please remember to return form completed and signed.
I am unsure on the exact date and time that this will take place and will keep you updated as best we can. If you would rather take your child to GP for their vaccination that would be fine just opt out on the form.
We are looking forward to welcoming you back tomorrow after the October break. A little reminder on events we have on this week;
Wednesday 26th October Danceathon – the children will be participating in a special day with lots of dancing including zumba, sticky kids, teaching them some new moves, as well as some of our usual favourites. Can you please dress your child in comfortable clothes and shoes to take part. If you have yet to bring in sponsor money please do so by Friday 28th.
Friday 28th October Halloween Party – we will be hosting a spooktacular party on Friday that the children can come dressed up for. We will be playing games, dooking for apples and ofcourse a party snack.
We appreciate all the effort made by our families and are looking forward to an exciting and eventful week.
If you have any questions please ask a member of staff.
If you are attending the Harvest Disco tonight, we hope you all have a fantastic time. A few reminders –
6:15 – 7:15
Adults must stay with children from ECC during this time.
If you haven’t yet got a ticket yet, please get them from the school main office.
Sponsored Danceathon
You will remember you received home a sponsor form for our sponsored danceathon on Wednesday 26th October. If you could possibly return these by Friday 14th October it would be greatly appreciated. This will help the ECC hugely in our plans for festive activities with the children.
Halloween Party
On Friday 28th October the ECC will be hosting a Halloween Party. The children can come to nursery that day all dressed up in their costumes.
Although Halloween is certainly a spooky time of year…. please be aware that we have young children in the ECC and therefore recommend no masks or costumes that are too scary.
If you have any questions, please ask a member of staff
