Thursday 14th January πŸ’›β€οΈπŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’™

Good Morning Everyone! 😊

In nursery the children have been working hard on identifying rhyming words in stories, songs etc.

Listen carefully to this story, can you hear any words that rhyme or sound the same? Β Talk to your grown up about it. Β You could also play I Spy at home, Β can you spot any objects that rhyme or sound the same?

I would love to hear how you get on.

Kind Regards

Wednesday 13th January πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’›β€οΈπŸ’š

Good morning everyone. Β I you are doing well and enjoying the activities to do from home this week.

In the ECC we work at developing our number recognition and ordering numbers 0-10. *Always remember 0 when counting and be aware that this represents a value too*

Can you see what numbers you can find in your home, garden or on a walk? Where did you find them? Can you name them?

Numbers in the environment

Can you draw numbers on pieces of paper and order them 0-10 then 10-0. You can change this to suit whatever your child is comfortable with ie. 0-3 or 0-5

As an extra challenge can you then match amounts of objects to these numbers.Β Here is an example below.

Matching amounts to numerals

You can keep me updated on how you are getting on or ask any questions by emailing:

Home Learning β€οΈπŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™

Good morning,

It is to be quite a lovely fresh day today so if you are out for a walk I have a an activity here for you.
Investigating signs and recognising them are very early reading skills.

Speak about the signs that you can see, do you know the numbers? or is there any you already know? This can include shop signs for example co-op, post office etc.
If heading out please remember to do so safely 😁

If you are not heading out today here is one you can do in the house.

Remember to let your child’s keyworkers know how they are getting on with these activities. Take some pictures.

Good morning and Happy new year to you all πŸ™‚

I hope you all had a lovey Christmas and enjoyed all that snowy weather we had did you go sledging ?

Drawing and painting helps to develop fine motor skills that will assist children when they learn to write and also improves hand-eye coordination.

I would love to see all these lovely pictures when you are finished these can be emailed to me πŸ™‚.

Remember if using felt tip pens …what do you do with the lids when u are finished ?

Christmas Surprise

Hello everyone!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our families for your continuous understanding and support! Since we started the new session in August we have found ourselves working very differently, but as always the children are at the centre of our practice and we endeavour to make the best possible experiences for them.Β  Part of our journey this session that we have missed is being able to invite our families in to join in their child’s learning.

With that being said we have all been very busy this festive period making crafts and getting organised for our party! We have put together a special video for all the family!!

We hope you all have the very best Christmas and New Year and may if be filled with laughter, joy and some noisy toys!!!

Thank you again from all the staff here at Hurlford ECC..we hope you enjoy! (A special thank you to Louise for her video editing skills!)

Have a great festive holiday!

All the staff
