Hello all groups πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’šβ€

Good morning and Happy new year to you all πŸ™‚

I hope you all had a lovey Christmas and enjoyed all that snowy weather we had did you go sledging ?

For today’s task I would like you to draw, chalk or paint a picture of your favourite present that you got for Christmas or maybe of you sledging try and put in as much detail as possible maybe add in your christmas tree or your family etc, remember to take you time .πŸ™‚βœπŸŽ¨.

Drawing and painting helps to develop fine motor skills that will assist children when they learn to write and also improves hand-eye coordination.

I would love to see all these lovely pictures when you are finished these can be emailed to me πŸ™‚.

Remember if using felt tip pens …what do you do with the lids when u are finished ?

That’s it put the lids back on πŸ˜„.

Have fun making your pictures and I look forward to seeing them.

Christmas Surprise

Hello everyone!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our families for your continuous understanding and support! Since we started the new session in August we have found ourselves working very differently, but as always the children are at the centre of our practice and we endeavour to make the best possible experiences for them.Β  Part of our journey this session that we have missed is being able to invite our families in to join in their child’s learning.

With that being said we have all been very busy this festive period making crafts and getting organised for our party! We have put together a special video for all the family!!

We hope you all have the very best Christmas and New Year and may if be filled with laughter, joy and some noisy toys!!!

Thank you again from all the staff here at Hurlford ECC..we hope you enjoy! (A special thank you to Louise for her video editing skills!)

Have a great festive holiday!

All the staff

Thursday 17th December – Santa comes to Hurlford!!!

As we are unable to have Santa visit our school this year, Santa has agreed to come into the Community to wave to our children in our ECC and Primary.
On Thursday 17th December from 5pm to approx. 6pm, Santa will be driven along the following route to wave to our pupils. Staff will also come along too and join in the fun!
Why not come out into your garden or pavement and wave to Santa as he goes by? If Santa, is not visiting your street, please find a safe place to stand along the route and wave. Please note that Santa and staff will not be able to stop.
It is very important that everyone remembers social distancing and only stand in your family bubble.

The route is as follows:
SANTA ROUTE MAP

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Christmas Songs

We here at the ECC are very much missing singing and practicing our usual Christmas songs.

The children have still been singing these on their own but we are unable to teach them the songs in large groups this year due to COVID restrictions.

I have put together some Christmas songs if you wish to sing with the children at home.

When Santa got stuck up the chimney.

  1. When Santa got stuck up the chimney,

He began to shout,

You girls and boys,

Won’t get any toys,

If you don’t pull me out.

There’s soot on my back,

And my beard is all black,

My nose is tickling too.

When Santa got stuck up the chimney,

Achoo, Achoo, Achoo.

Poor old Santa

Poor old Santa; Poor old SantaΒ

He got stuck; he got stuck,

Coming down the chimney

Coming down the chimney

What tough luck; what tough luck

Jingle Bells

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride,

In a one horse open sleigh oh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Hurrah for dear old Santa Claus

Hurrah for Christmas Day!

Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow

In a one-horse open sleigh

O’er the fields we go

Laughing all the way ha ha ha

Bells on bobtails ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Had a very shiny nose,

And if you ever saw it,

You would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer

Used to laugh and call him names;

They never let poor Rudolph

Join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,

Santa came to say,

Rudolph with your nose so bright,

Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then how the reindeer loved him

As they shouted out with glee,

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,

You’ll go down in history.

Green, Yellow & Purple Groups

The green, yellow and purple group have been learning about the circus. They were juggling balls, walking on stilts, spinning plates, walking on a tight rope and jumping through a hoop of fire.

All the boys and girls also put on a show for the red and blue group!!…what do you think of their circus skills?? πŸŽͺ 🀑
