πŸ”΄πŸŸ‘πŸŸ’πŸ”΅πŸŸ£Patterns πŸ”΄πŸŸ‘πŸŸ’πŸ”΅πŸŸ£

Hello everyone πŸ™‚ I hope you all had a nice wee break from home learning.

I am so excited that i will be able to see you all on Monday πŸ˜„.

Today I thought it would be fun to identify different patterns.
Can you identify different patterns around your house?
Look for spots, stripes, tartan, animal print. You might find these on socks and t-shirts, cushions, curtains and bedding.
Have a look at your toys do you have any animals or toys with print i.e., Zebra strips or leopard spots?

I would love to see what patterns you find!

For a extra challenge can you make your own pattern?Β  You could use bricks or cars or even paper.

And for a extra tricky challenge can you follow and copy a pattern?

I have posted some examples for you.

I cant wait to see what patterns you find or make.

Have fun πŸ™‚

Messy sensory play πŸŸ£πŸ”΅πŸŸ’πŸŸ‘πŸ”΄

Hello everyone πŸ™‚,

While in nursery we play with lots of different sensory items this can range from play dough all the way to messy sticky slime..

I thought I would post some ingredients of how we make some of our messy play..

PLAYDOUGH…..

SLIME…

MOONSAND…..

GLOOP….

We also enjoy playing with dry pasta, rice and cereal these items are good for filling and pouring and using our imagination…

Maybe you could make a necklace with some pasta or cereal.

Have fun experimenting with the different ingredients.Β  I can’t wait to see what use have been doing πŸ™‚.

Good Morning Everyone πŸ˜πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›β€

In nursery we like to talk about our feelings and know it’s okay to feel different emotions.

Can you use a mirror or a camera to look at your different facial expressions?Β  Β Can you make a happy face, sad face, angry face and a silly face?

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜”πŸ˜‘πŸ€ͺ

Sometimes if we are feeling tired, grumpy or full of energy in nursery we like to get active as this always makes us feel happier πŸ™‚.

We do this by going outside to run about and play or can also be done by:-

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT – singing and dancing to your favourite tunes.Β  ThisΒ  is great for your gross motor skills and muscle strength.

MOVE LIKE AN ANIMAL – crawl around the room like a bear or jump like a frog or even slither like a snake…the boys and girls enjoy the song “see the little bunnies sleeping” and each time we would change to a different animal.

ANDY’S WILD WORKOUTS – this can be found on the BBC iplayer.

COSMIC KIDS YOGA – there are lots to choose from why not give one a go.

TIDY UP RACING GAME – See who can tidy up first!Β  Who will get the last toy or the last piece of Lego?Β  Pick a song for the tidy up song ..can you tidy all your toys before the song finishes.

Have fun being active for the day πŸ™‚ let me know how it made you feel πŸ™‚.

🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Robert Burns Day 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi

A wee extra post.

Today is Robert Burns Day and we would have been doing lots of Scottish things in the nursery like painting the scotland flag 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, drawing pictures of Robert Burns πŸ‘€, tasting some scottish food like shortbread and haggis, neeps and tatties and even having a ceilidh.

Today why dont you try some scottish poems or sing some Scottish songs,

Have a dance to some ceilidh music,

Draw or paint some scottish pictures.

We would love to see what kind of Scottish things you and your family get upto.

Independence πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’šβ€πŸ’›

Good morning everyone πŸ’›β€πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and had some fun in all that snow πŸ™‚.

In nursery not only do we learn about shapes, colours and numbers and lots of other thingsΒ  but we also learn how to be more independent.

Things like :-
πŸ”ΉοΈputting on our own jackets and shoes.
πŸ”ΉοΈSpreading our own toast and crackers.
πŸ”ΉοΈPouring our own milk and water.
πŸ”ΉοΈUsing a knife and fork.
πŸ”ΉοΈGoing to the toilet independently.

Skills like these help to build your child’s self esteem and confidence and helps with getting ready for school πŸ‘¨β€πŸ«πŸ‘©β€πŸ«.

At lunchtime we always encourage good table manners as well as encouraging the safe use of a knife and fork, try and always use your knife and fork when you are at home eating and try not to use your fingers.Β  Cutting your food can be veryΒ  tricky but always try yourself first before you get some help πŸ™‚.

Having a sticker on the inside of your child’s shoes helps them to recognise which way is the right feet for them to put on by themselves.

Why not try and put your own jacket on and if you can also zip or fasten it up, put on your shoes or welly boots and go out a nice long walk with your family.

When you come home remember and also take your own jacket off and hang it up and also take off your own boots too.

Being independent can be hard work but with lots of practice it will soon be easy πŸ™‚

Have a good week if you have any questions just email myself or your group lady πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’šβ€πŸ’›

Initial sounds

Good morning everyone πŸ’œπŸ’›β€πŸ’šπŸ’™

Today I thought we could have a look at initial sounds.

I would like you to find objects that start with the same letter as your name for example T is for Tracey and T is for Train.

If you can do this, why not try and see if you can find any objects for the first letter of your mum, dad, brothers or sisters names or even any pets!

My pets name is also T …T is for Tilly.

Cant wait to see what you find.Β  Please send any photos to myself or your own group lady.

Have a fun everyone.

Hello all groups πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’šβ€

Good morning and Happy new year to you all πŸ™‚

I hope you all had a lovey Christmas and enjoyed all that snowy weather we had did you go sledging ?

Drawing and painting helps to develop fine motor skills that will assist children when they learn to write and also improves hand-eye coordination.

I would love to see all these lovely pictures when you are finished these can be emailed to me πŸ™‚.

Remember if using felt tip pens …what do you do with the lids when u are finished ?

That’s it put the lids back on πŸ˜„.
