School Values Awards

I am so impressed at the ambition that the Primary 5/6 pupils have shown since returning from our winter break. Each of these certificates were very well deserved – well done!

KH and MD received an AMBITION certificate for great effort in numeracy recently when learning about fractions. They particularly stood out with their work on equivalent fractions, successfully being able to use their multiplication knowledge to create equivalent fractions.

MW also received an AMBITION certificate for working extremely hard in literacy particularly with tasks related to his reading. He has really excelled in the past couple of weeks with the completion of comprehension and prediction tasks which has shown in his written work.

JD received an AMBITION certificate for making an excellent start in his responsive writing where he was writing a critical essay about Robert Burns’ poem ‘To a Mouse’. He identified the main themes and explained these in detail using quotes from the poem.

Whole School Achievement

We were delighted to hear that we were successful in achieving our Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Gold award following our assessors visit in June. We are incredibly proud of all pupils and the motivation, efforts, and ambition they demonstrated through learning about their rights and sharing that knowledge at home and in our community through the OutRight Campaign. We enjoyed a gold celebration today (28.8.23) in recognition of this huge achievement.
