Young People’s Project Voting Event
Primary 4-7 visited the Community Centre to vote for the projects they would like to see funded. They have created project proposals and cast their votes today. Looking forward to finding out the results of the voting. Hopefully they’ll be able to come along with parents and carers to the Funding Event on Saturday between 11am and 3pm in the Community Centre to support 2 projects proposed by our Parent Council.
Columba 1400 Leadership Workshops in P5/6 and P6/7
Primary 5/6 and 6/7 engaged in our first online workshop today! We shared our thoughts and views with peers from across East Ayrshire, using digital resources.
Our focus for today was in ‘Values’, considering what is important, what we have to offer and what we ask of others, in our class and leadership roles.
We are looking forward to our next session very soon!
Why is Maths so important?
A great discussion in Primary 6/7 this week, thinking about how we use maths in our daily lives. We discovered we use maths skills a lot more than we realised! Our posters reflect our discussion and the importance in life, learning and work.
Maths Week Scotland
Primary 6/7 have kick started Maths Week Scotland by using some of our newly purchased money resources to support Financial Education. We were successful in a grant for over £600 to purchase resources for our ECC and all our classes!
Rag bag collection
Here are our house captains helping to load up all the rag bag donations made. The total weight collected was 379kg. What a great recycling effort. Thank you everyone for supporting this to benefit our school.
P3/4 Homework
Primary 5/6 Homework
Good morning,
I hope you have all had a wonderful long weekend. We now have our own class blog therefore I will begin uploading homework and class work to our blog. I have attached our homework here this week and will show all children how to access our own blog for next week. If anyone has any issues accessing the blog send me an email and I will help! My email is: eakathleen.mcgrane@glow.sch.uk
I hope this makes things much easier for you as you will be able to see all of our class work straight from our account!
The homework for the week this week is for all children to practise their spelling words for their spelling test on Friday. The words for the week this week are:

Additionally, this week all children have been encouraged to look for all of the representations of their sound of the week in a contextualised environment – for example the supermarket, on a road sign etc.
Sounds – all representations of f – Genius Gems
‘ou, igh, y – Whiz Kids and Clever Cookies
Maths homework this week is a TJ worksheet – all children should spend at least half an hour on the sheet, therefore it does not matter if the sheet is not finished, do as much as they can.
For reading this week please log onto Bug Club and complete the newly assigned book for the week – I have uploaded a grammar game for you to play at your leisure.
Children have been issued homework jotters therefore their maths and spelling should be complete in their jotters.
Have a lovely week 🙂
