Remote learning feedback

Good morning. We are nearly at the end of our first week back after the holidays, which has also been our first week of remote learning. I have been so impressed by the work and effort the children have given to completing their tasks remotely. I’d like to thank all the parents, carers and staff supporting our young people during this time. It is a team effort to do the best we can for the children. To help us ensure we are doing our best, we would appreciate some feedback from parents and carers about the children’s experiences this week. Could you please complete the survey below to help us evaluate our remote learning so far?

Thanks you

Mrs Greig

Good morning P1 – Thursday 14th January 2021

Good morning everyone.  I hope you all feel well rested after a good night’s sleep.

I just wanted to say that I have been loving receiving your emails, photos and videos.  Please keep them coming because they let me know that you are happy and engaged.  Remember, life skills are also important, so be helping to keep your room tidy, try making up your bed and be kind to each other.  Adults at home – you are doing an amazing job!  The work that you have sent us has been fabulous.

Remember to make a special effort to look at the Rabbie Burns PowerPoint I posted yesterday.  It will take you a bit of practise to learn it off by heart.  I am so looking forward to seeing your efforts.

As the week is closing to an end and I won’t have a chance to blog tomorrow as I will be in school, I just wanted to ask adults at home if you could take the time today or tomorrow to send us a quick email to let us know what you have particularly liked, found useful or what you would like to see more of in the learning to come over the next few weeks.  After all, it’s you at home trying your best to provide good learning experiences.  We want to help out with this as much as possible.

Have a good day everyone and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Good morning P1 – Wednesday 13th January 2021

Good morning to all our wee cherubs.  We are missing you so much that I watched your Christmas message again so that I could see all your lovely wee faces again.

Today I have a very special task which I would love everyone in P1 to get involved in.  Today Mrs Forsyth and I want to tell you about a very special Scottish person called Robert Burns.  Rabbie was a very famous poet who wrote lots of different poems.  We would like you to make a big decision today and choose one of the poems in the PowerPoint below to learn off by heart.  This will take you a few days to be able to do.  Everything you need to know is in the PowerPoint.  For anyone new to PowerPoint, when the document opens, click on slideshow (top bar) and select to watch from the beginning.  I have done a voice over on the poems to help with pronouncing the Scots words and dialect, although I am very sure that you will all be better at that than me!

So why not forget about letters and numbers for one day and have fun learning a new poem.  We can’t wait to find out which one you liked best!

Rabbie Burns

Video Access

Hi I know lots of you have been unable to access the videos we have published. Miss Wallace has worked her magic  so if you try again I think the happy new year one is now there. I am working on the phonics one so if you check later and let me know if it is fixed. Sorry about the problems but don’t worry we will get there in the end.
