Outdoor Clothing Swap Shop

πŸŒβ™»οΈ ECC Outdoor Clothing Swap Shop β™»οΈπŸŒ

Donation dates:Β Wednesday 1st – Monday 6th October 2025

Do you have good quality outdoor clothing that your child has outgrown?

Donate it to our Outdoor Clothing Swap Shop and help us care for both our children and the planet.

A box will be placed in the ECC corridor where donations can be made.

How it works:

πŸ‘• Bring along good quality items (jackets, waterproofs, wellies, hats, etc.)

βœ‚οΈ Please remove names before donating

πŸ‘— Rail available outside the ECC (in the corridor on wet days) from Monday 6th October

🀝 Take what you need, leave what you can

What happens next?

βœ… Any leftover items will be donated to another ECC in our authority – supporting families across our community.

βœ… By reusing and recycling, we reduce waste and help meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals for protecting the planet.

Thank you for your support in making this a success – every small action makes a big difference! πŸŒ±πŸ’š

Personal Plan Appointments

Personal Plan Appointments
Tuesday 2/9/25, Wednesday 3/9/25 and Thursday 4/9/25
Next week Key Workers will be hosting Personal Plan appointments for every child in the ECC.
If your child is new to the Centre you will complete a new Personal Plan with their Key Worker.
If your child is returning to the Centre, the appointment is to review their Personal Plan.
It is important that every child has a Personal Plan in place within 28 days of starting in the Centre. It is also very important that Personal Plans are reviewed every 6 months.
Appointments will be Tuesday 2/9/25, Wednesday 3/9/25 and Thursday 4/9/25, from 3.00 – 3.50pm. If these days and times are unsuitable, please speak to your child’s Key Worker or to Joanne to arrange an alternative appointment.
Please note, for Parents with children attending Fenwick PS, there is a ‘Meet The Teacher’ event scheduled for Wednesday 3/9/25 at 3.15.
Thank you for your continued support.

As we come to the end of another wonderful year, we want to take a moment to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and encouragement. Your involvement means the world to us, and it has made this year truly special.

To our incredible children – thank you for being the bright, curious, and joyful little stars that you are. You make every day a pleasure, and we feel so lucky to be part of your journey.

Thank you also for your very generous gifts – your thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated.

We wish you all a relaxing and fun-filled summer holiday, and to our children heading off to P1 in August – good luck! We’ll miss you and know you’ll shine just as brightly in your next adventure.

With love,

Joanne, Gillian, Angela and Susan xx

Health Week Monday 19th May – Friday 23rd May.

Next week all children in Fenwick ECC will be taking part in Health Week activities.

Health week incorporates many aspects around being healthy, including looking after our emotional and mental health as well as our physical health and eating healthily.

We have lots of fun filled experiences planned during the course of the week such as Cosmic Yoga, Just Dance, Jiggy Wrigglers, healthy eating challenges and Mini-Massage.

Fenwick PS Health & Wellbeing Committee would love for as many people as possible to walk to school next week to help promote Health Week and also help children earn bonus miles for Shoot To Saturn challenges.

The children are welcome to come to the ECC in their sports clothes, if they wish.

As we will be spending lots of time out doors please ensure your child has sun cream applied before coming into the Centre in the morning and that they bring a wide brimmed sun hat with them to the Centre.

ECC staff reapply sun cream after the children have their lunch.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sun Cream

Please can all children bring a bottle of SPF 30 + sun cream into the Centre. The Centre will keep a stock of SPF 50+, 5 star UVA & UVB sun cream if required.

Sun cream will be stored in an easily accessible basket in the ECC corridor for Parent’s/ Carer’s to access as required.

As we look towards some (hopefully) very sunny weather can you ensure that your child has sun cream applied before coming into the Centre in the mornings. This will allow them direct access to outdoor play.

Staff will reapply sun cream after lunch time, before the children access outdoors again in the afternoon.

Please provide a sun hat for your child to wear as they play outdoors. To help on hot days, loose clothing and wide brimmed sun hats are best to help keep the children protected from the sun.

These hats can be placed in the group boxes which can now be found in Playroom 2.

Additionally, the children will be accessing outdoors lots, they will running climbing and jumping. Please provide your child with closed toed shoes such as trainers to help minimise tripping accidents.

Our sun protection policy can be found in the policy tab on this blog.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your child’s Key Worker or Joanne.

Thank you for your continued support.
