SHANARRI Bumblebee

Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) is the national approach in Scotland to supporting children and families. The use of the wellbeing indicators, most commonly referred to as SHANARRI, is a shared approach to supporting our children’s wellbeing in the Early Childhood Centre.

SHANARRI stands for Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included. During your child’s Personal Plan meetings, staff discuss these wellbeing indicators with parents and carers to gain a better understanding of the individual needs of the children in our care. We work collaboratively with our parents and carers to ensure we have a shared approach to supporting your child.

We have a SHANARRI bumblebee. We hope the SHANARRI bumblebee will help our children gain a better understanding of SHANARRI and their wellbeing, as well as the wellbeing of others.
