Fun in the Centre

Making a train

The children have been learning the words to Ally Bally during Scottish celebrations.
Today they created their own tartan using cars to help.
They also enjoyed a special Scottish treat of short bread.
We used the Promethean board to listen to some Scottish songs too, such as Three Craws and You Canny Shove Your Granny Off A Bus.

Goodbye Mrs Davidson

Our children with the heart canvas and card they made for Mrs Davidson.
The caption on it reads “It takes a big heart to shape little minds. With love Fenwick ECC xx
They also recorded a special video message too which has been sent to Mrs Davidson.

IT skills

The children have been accessing the new desk top computer which is in our new playroom. They are developing their hand eye coordination by using the mouse and have enjoyed accessing TopMark’s maths counting and number games.

Real crockery

The children have been so excited with the addition of our new tea sets and crockery. They have had experiences of using real crockery before, but this has now been extended.
The children are very careful in handling this and have a very good understanding of being safe in the event of a break.
This had added depth to their imaginative play and observing and being part of their tea parties is a wonderful experience for staff as well as the children.

We will continue to develop and add to the home corner over the coming months.
