Our Views

Our P5-7 pupils took part in a consultation with town planners from East Ayrshire Council today.  Town planners decide where development can and can’t happen and they consult with towns and villages about this.

Today pupils got to share everything they love about their village and the things that need some improvement. This will help inform the new local development plan that is being written.

They listened well and contributed with enthusiasm, well done everyone.

P7 Photos

I’m not quite sure how – but we are now well into the last term of P7.  This is another busy term, so I thought we would get started with the bits and pieces that will be needed for the end of the session.

We are looking for a baby photo of every pupil in the class as well as two present day pictures or selfies. Please email them to me at fiona.mccaig2@eastayrshire.org.uk

We can’t wait to see them all.

School Enterprise

This term P7 is taking part  in the ‘Make £5 Grow’ Virgin Money initiative.

The class successfully applied for an enterprise loan to start their own mini businesses.  They are working hard on all aspects of business from idea development to budgeting and marketing.  When they have sold their product/service they will repay the loan amount to reveal their profit from their hard work.

Throughout the term there will be lots of exciting opportunities for pupils to buy fun products and take part in creative workshops.

Our mini businesses are:

  • The Busy Bakers – Cupcakes
  • The Goo-Bros – Slime Workshops
  • Royal Doh – Playdoh
  • The Sweetie Kings – School Tuck Shop
  • The Sweet Chicks – Sweetie stuffed knitted chicks

Dates and prices will be confirmed next week – DON’T MISS OUT!

Dolphin House – Day 2

A busy but fantastic day two. We’ve been caving, biking, rockpooling and have done some beach conservation. Tired but happy faces at dinner – fuelling before another adventure around Culzean tonight.

Dolphin House – Day 1

Check out some snippets from day one at Dolphin House. We’ve settled in, made our beds, sorted the meal time jobs and helped to plan our week of activities. We are having a ball!

East Ayrshire’s Children and Young People’s Climate Conference 2024

We were delighted to be invited to this year’s Climate Conference to share all of the amazing work the school has done around the natural environment. Lucy and Ellie represented Catrine and presented to schools from across the authority, elected members and the Head of Education. They delivered a fantastic presentation that showcased all of the work done in relation to The Clean Green Award and The John Muir Award. A huge well done to the girls, as well as every other pupil and the wider parent/carer community who helped make our days a huge success.
