MATHS WEEK WITH MISS MURDOCH

P6/7 have been exploring measure with Miss Murdoch as part of our Maths Week.

Today’s lesson involved pupils measuring objects in the classroom in millimetres, centimetres  and metres, ensuring to select the correct measuring device. Following this, pupils were also able to use their knowledge of place value to convert metric units of length.

They then took their lesson outdoors and were able to use their problem solving skills and knowledge of measure to design a short tennis court for their P.E lesson.

P6/7 weekly blog post 🚀

We read and completed some  activities on our new book and have been learning more details about the characters Graham and Joe!

The past few weeks we have been doing this project called ‘Tweet’, which is a dance workshop where we will make our own  movie. 🎥

We have been learning about the dangers of smoking and worked in teams to create our own PowerPoints. This afternoon we shared our presentations on smoking with the rest of the class.

Weekly round up😀

We started reading Divided City and completed some work about our Prior Knowledge of it and a front cover.

This week we did basketball for PE, here is a picture of it.  We played a game where someone was in the middle & they had to try and intercept the ball.

We also had a dance workshop with Miss Kate, here‘s a little video and some pictures.

Weekly round up 🤩

This week we were learning about cool and warm tones and colours. Then we  made our own art.

We also did another K’nex  challenge and Ryan suggested we make the Twin Towers as it’s almost the anniversary of 9/11. We could make a theme park ride or 911 twin towers.

Today for maths we did number bingo, ordering numbers with decimal points (some people even made their own versions) and a matching game.

We also went outside for basketball this week too.

Weekly round up😊

We made poems with P5/6 and we were writing down some ideas for our new ‘Tweet’ dance project.

The class were doing a challenge to make a bridge out of K’nex. We had to make the bridge 1 metre long and it had to hold a toy car.🚘

We also made Paintbox poems at writing time.

We made positive affirmation journals & talked about what we are like as individuals.
