We have worked hard to have more integrated and streamline policies in working within the whole school community. Please see how each stage in the school has shown support in supporting an aspect of clean green.
P1 – Becoming Active Travel Aware and Wildlife
P1 have taken ownership and have now learned what it means to travel actively. They can now truly track their travel and what each aspect means. Also, through their topic they have learned about minibeasts and how to look after smaller bugs and wildlife!
P2 – What is Recycling and celebrating Earth Day
P2 have had lots of discussion and sorting of how to be environmentally friendly. They spoke about how pollution can make them feel sad. Amazing work understanding about Earth day too!
P3 – Outdoor Space
P3 have been working hard to develop their greenspace area! They did a big clear out before Mitie stepped in to support us! Our Garden then closed to be refurbed, so we worked with Dean Castle Country Park Rangers and Mrs Smith from East Ayrshire Central team. What a quality day, full of so much learning! P4 – Fair Trade
P4 visited the local supermarket to pick fair trade products. This has really helped us to think about products that support the environment and the workers from the starting point. They have also looked at the coco bean from the start, considering a range of factors.
P5 – Climate Champions
P5B, P5C and P5TI took part in becoming climate champions. They thoroughly enjoyed their day of activities and are experts with Climate now! Well done!
P6 – Reusing Materials
P6 made volcanoes out of reusable materials! Putting ‘junk’ resources to good use, look at how some of these amazing models turned out! P6B have also been our travel tracker ambassadors. They have really supported the WOW travel tracker.
P7 – Solar Punk Island
P7 have taken on a whole unit which encompasses sustainability, pollution, eco friendly etc. Just look at the journey of this whole topic! WOW!

Community Litter Pick
Each month P3 wanted to support the community and show that we care about the local area our school is in. To finish part of our Clean Green journey we invited parents/carers in to join us! Thank you for the support!
We even found our Community allotment next to Annanhill’s park! We hope to take this space on next session!
Lunch Time Litter Picks
P5TI took it upon themselves to come and support Clean Green! They gave up their own lunch to help their school grounds to look better!
The notice board was moved as everyone passes this location now! We have kept it simple to remind pupils, parents and carers of our initiatives!
