🐝 Coding and Programming with Bee-Bots

We have been getting ready to become coding and programming experts! πŸ’»πŸ

The children have been introduced to our Bee-Bots and have been learning that we can use a sequence of instructions, or commands, to tell the Bee-Bot where to go.

To prepare for this, we first designed our own Bee-Bot maps. The children had to think carefully about where they wanted their Bee-Bot to start and where they wanted it to finish.

We practised using important coding language such as forwards, backwards, left and right, thinking carefully about which commands the Bee-Bot would need to follow to reach its destination. πŸπŸ’»

Exploring Symmetry in Maths! πŸ”’βœ¨

As well as developing our understanding of place value in Maths, we have also been busy exploring symmetry!

We took part in five different symmetry stations, giving us lots of opportunities to learn through hands-on and active activities. We even headed outdoors to explore symmetry in nature, using leaves to find and create symmetrical patterns. πŸƒ

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ PE Fun with Grange & Mr Aldridge! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Our P3 children have been absolutely loving their Physical Education sessions with Mr Aldridge and his senior pupils! They have been getting active, having fun and developing their skills through a range of exciting games and stations. It has been fantastic to see the children working together, trying new things and having lots of fun while keeping active! 🌟

πŸ“š A Gruffalo Granny Adventure! 🐾

P3 were very lucky to be involved in the online launch of Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo Granny! The children had a fantastic time listening to the story being read live and joining in with the excitement. We also got to watch Axel Scheffler live as he showed us how to draw the Gruffalo Granny! The children loved following along and creating their very own Gruffalo Granny drawings!

🌟 Celebrating Success in P3! 🌟

In P3, we are all about celebrating success! We love showcasing the wonderful achievements of our children in our classroom, especially the successes and achievements they have outside of school too.

Here are just some of our amazing young people and the fantastic things they have been achieving! We would love to hear about all of your wonderful successes, whether that’s in sport, music, dancing, art, clubs or anything else you are proud of! Please come and share your successes with us so we can celebrate them together in P3! πŸŽ‰

Book Launch πŸ“š

The children visited the Dick Institute for the launch of Lorna Stalker’s brand-new book, The Cheese Wedge of Doom! We loved hearing all about the story and getting the chance to celebrate the launch with Lorna.

We were lucky to explore upstairs in the museum, discovering lots of interesting things and learning more about the fantastic collections on display. πŸ’›

Welcome to P3C

We have settled in to our new classroom and have worked together to create our own class charter. We read β€˜Our Class is a Family!’ and brainstormed how we want our class to feel, sound and look. We created class promises and took the most important ones to create our charter. We even made little promise bracelets.
