Additional In-Service Days
Dear Parents / Carers
As you may be aware, the Scottish Government has granted 2 additional in-service days, to be held in academic year 2019-20, as part of the recent teachers’ pay award. It has been agreed that the additional in-service days will be:
- Tuesday 24th September 2019
- Friday 3rd April 2020
Please note that all schools and ECCs will be closed to pupils on these dates. Local arrangements may be adapted in ECCs to ensure the provision of stated hours.

Name Tags
Can we please ask that all items (jackets, clothes, ties, shoes, bags, lunchbags, water bottles etc) belonging to your child are clearly labelled with their name. We have already reunited many items that have wandered away from their owners this term, however, items without names make it much harder in getting them back to pupils. Your help in keeping items with their rightful owners is very much appreciated.
Nut Allergies
As we have several pupils and staff within our school who have severe nut allergies, we would be grateful if you could ensure that all snacks and packed lunches sent into school do not contain any products containing nuts (eg. Nutella, chocolate spread, Beuno Bars, M& M’s, Reese’s Pieces etc).
Exposure to nut contamination can occur when a person handles nuts or nut products as the residual dust/oil can remain on skin for several hours after. Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening reaction to a trigger such as an nut allergy.
As part of the LPS Community, your co-operation with this matter is much appreciated.
