The aims of the SWEIC QAMSO programme aims to:
- support local authorities and schools to develop a better understanding of standards in literacy and numeracy,
- support effective assessment and moderation, including the development of high quality, holistic assessments,
- support the sharing of good practice, and
- enable local authorities and schools to have greater confidence in the validity and reliability of teacher professional judgement.
Quality Assurance and Moderation Support Officers (QAMSOs) are practitioners who lead these priorities within their establishments, clusters and authorities.
Throughout the year we deliver Sharing Practice sessions led by each local authority in turn who share examples of identified good practice in assessment and moderation across the curriculum. These inputs provide an opportunity to collaborate and engage in professional dialogue around planning, learning, teaching and assessment and as such are open to all school practitioners.
