Challenge Poverty Week 2021 – East Ayrshire Multi-agency approach
East Ayrshire Council and partners have a busy programme of events and activities arranged this week to highlight the need to challenge poverty.
Learning activities including: healthy eating on a budget, and, reusing and recycling, have been popular in schools, older peoples accommodation, and other community venues across the area.
East Ayrshire Council Financial Inclusion service arranged a number of sessions to bring together service providers (e.g. Housing, Universal Credit, Home Energy, Employability, NHS, third sector organisations, and Vibrant Communities) to learn from one another, and share good practice.
Wider community drop-in sessions to raise awareness of help available also took place in Dalmellington, Cumnock, Kilmarnock, Drongan, Newmilns, and Muirkirk.
