Campaign for Learning, in partnership with Education Scotland, is running the Family Learning Festival from 15 until 30 October. This is an annual national celebration to inspire a love of learning in family life. Organisations of all types and sizes including schools, libraries, museums and galleries put on creative events that showcase ideas and learning opportunities for families.

Families can engage with events and activities ranging from sustainability and conservation to music and heritage. There’s even a spooktactular Halloween museum trail in Edinburgh’s Museum on the Mound!

This is our first year supporting this work and we hope to build on the amazing sessions being delivered to families, by our partners, across Scotland next year.

Please pass on the registration link to colleagues and families, or even check it out for yourself. Events near you! | familylearning (familylearningfestival.com)

We would also encourage you to pass on the free online sessions below where families can engage with fun Chemistry activities led by the Royal Society of Chemistry at home or in school.

  • ChemiStories training for Family Learning practitioners – Using storytelling techniques to introduce chemistry concepts to children aged 4-7. 15 November 2022 09:30 – 12:30

Training includes a resource pack for delivering your own ChemiStories events and a pack of books to use with children aged 4-7. Folks can register here – https://www.campaign-for-learning.org.uk/web/Events/Event_Display.aspx?EventKey=FLCHEMI
