St. Joseph’s pupils are very enthusiastic in going for our Gold Rights Respecting Schools Award. The children are working together to learn about rights, for rights and through rights. Linking with This Is Our Faith strand of the Mystery of God, our pupils decided to show how we can all take a role in caring for our environment. They created signposts around school to demonstrate where St. Joseph’s takes our stewardship roles and responsibilities seriously. St. Joseph’s held a very successful Coffee Afternoon as a McMillan Cancer fundraiser. Our Enterprise Group took on leadership responsibility to organise the event, supported by Mrs Mann who chairs the group. Our Parent Council and family volunteers were on hand to help host the well attended community event. The Enterprise group organised advertising, arranged craft activities and games. P5 – 7 used their knowledge of weighing and measuring to
Primary 1 – 4 had great fun putting their practical skills in action toconstruct their own butterfly and bird boxes. They got stuck in using a rangeof tools to build their little habitat homes. Through discovery and imagination, the children developed and used problemsolving strategies to construct their creature homes; exploring materials andwooden blocks. Pupils from St. Joseph’s Primary rolled up their environmental sleeves to take part in the Great British Beach Clean 2024. This is a week-long citizen science event, where hundreds of beach cleans take place up and down the UK. St. Joseph’s pupils visited the shoreline at Agnew Park along with parent Council volunteers Andy and Donna. The children removed lots of discarded and washed up rubbish, making the beach a

It was the very last Friday for our fabulous P7s. To mark the occassion they received a Guard of Honour from their classmates to the beautiful sound of bagpipes playing.
