Parental Engagement Lead Officer
Our Parental Engagement Lead Officer, Vanessa Morris provides support to Parent Councils. This support is available by email, telephone, or in-person (face-to-face or online) at Parent Council meetings and adhoc meeting if support is required with constitutions, or other operational matters.

Parent Council Meetings and Events – School Booking Information
- Parent Council meetings are free for one meeting per month.
- Any extra meetings in the same month will incur a £11.80 charge.
- Events run by the Parent Council have a standard charge of £11.80.
- All Parent Council meeting bookings must be made through the Council’s booking system at least two weeks before the meeting date.
- You can book meetings for the whole year to support planning and to share dates with the wider parent forum.

Event Licence Information
Some events run by Parent Councils require a licence. For example, if you wanted to run a raffle, you would require a Small Society Lottery Licence. Dumfries and Galloway council has a license team who can provide guidance and expert advice to Parent Councils.
