Connect Membership

Connect Membership is paid for by Dumfries and Galloway Council, Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Directorate to support all Parent Councils in Dumfries and Galloway.

Connect is an independent national membership organisation for parents and carers involved in education. Connect membership provides many benefits, including access to training resources and insurance through Zurich Insurance. There is no cost to Parent Councils.

MyConnect, is an exclusive online library full of practical tools, templates, short films, and expert guidance! Whether you’re running a parent group, contributing to school policies, volunteering, or working to build a more inclusive school community, MyConnect gives you easy access to resources and on-demand content that support stronger parental involvement.

Co-created with input from parents, carers, education partners, and local authorities, MyConnect is regularly updated based on real needs and feedback.

Training

The Events page provides details of live online information sessions, and links to recordings of previous events. Parent Councils can also register to receive the Connect newsletter, which provided details of upcoming training opportunities. Email info@connect.scot to sign up.


Insurance

Your insurance is provided through Connect Membership that is paid by the Council. At the beginning of each term your membership details are shared via you Parent Council email address. It is your responsibility to keep your information up to date with your Insurer (Zurich Insurance) and if you have any specific events that require insurance cover please ensure that any risk assessment or questions of insurance are directed to them.

This information will be shared with your Parent Council at the start of each term. You will need to log in or register with the website via MyConnect (as above) then click the link to the Pack above or search Membership Pack in the Resources section.
