Our Partnership

We had a Halloween party at Lochrutton. First, we had a parade to show off our costumes, where we walked round the hall. Then we played ‘scary statues’, ‘spooky corners’, ‘chilly musical chairs’ and then we had a snack! After that, we played ‘pass the pumpkin’. We then split into younger and older groups and played ‘witches wart’ which was when you were blind folded and you had to put a bit of blue tac on the witches nose to see who could get closest. The other activity was ‘apple dooking’. Before we left we all got a packet of sweets to take home. I liked it because I wasn’t there last year for it, it was great fun! – Indie

We had a partnership day at Shawhead which was ‘Charlotte’s Web’ themed as we have been reading the book in class. We had 4 different activities to get through. We made chocolate apple’s, we made parachutes with a spider on it and we made friendship bracelets that had a kind word on it for someone. We also created some music where there was a picture of Wilbur the pig and there was writing on the piece of paper that had some bits of the story. In the story Wilbur did a half twist back flip and we wrote down different shapes to represent each sound it would make and then we used instruments to make the sound. After lunch we watched the movie and then we had 2 visitors – Wilbur and Uncle – real pigs that belonged to Zara! I had a very good day! – Gracie

We took part in our second part of sports day. We started with the potted sports, which were: an obstacle course, hurdles, netball shoot, space hoppers and slalom runs. The space hopper was my favourite! We then ran the races which were a sprint, egg and spoon, sack race and a bean bag race. We also had a pre school race and a parent race. Criffel won the Lochrutton Sports Day House Cup! We also had a new Partnership Potted Sports Cup and Criffel won that too! I was happy about that because that’s my house! – Amelia

We took part in our first afternoon of ‘sports day’ at Shawhead. We started with the potted sports, my favourite ones were the ice cream cone balance and the football dribble. We then ran some races which were: Mr T’s Water Race that we competed in our houses, The House Relay and in our classes – we did the long distance race. Next week is part 2 at Lochrutton to do the rest of the potted sports and races. – Aria
