Kirkcolm’s World Book Day Fun!

Its that time of the year again.. World Book Day, where us bookworms at Kirkcolm celebrate reading and all things books 📚🐛 P1-4 kicked off world book day with a scavenger hunt – pupils were grouped together and armed with a selection of books and given various pictures and criteria to find inside – they had great fun doing this and it certainly got us talking about the books we choose to read and why 🔍.

We then spent some time in class having a chill and read (because it wouldn’t be World Book Day without a good reading session). There were 3 merits up for grabs to anyone who managed to score 100% on an Accelerated Reading test as a special reward on a special day.📖
After lunch we competed in a World Book Day quiz which was great fun! Our groups went head to head again to see who was crowed the world book day wonders – Rory, Freddie and Ian came out on top for this challenge with a very respectable score of 17/20🏆
P5-7 had some reading time, listening to their class novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they were then tasked with the imaginative job of creating their own character to join Wonka’s weird and wacky world (please enjoy a preview of these wonderfully imaginative ideas) 🍫
A big well done to the boys and girls for all of their enthusiasm in the World Book Day fun 📚🦉
