Community Afternoon – 7.2.25

Primary 5-7 organised a community afternoon where members of our local community came in to play traditional games. The games that were played were:

Snakes and Ladders

Dominoes

Beetle Drive

Bingo

All the pupils had fun playing these games with people who attended. A special mention goes to Olly R who ‘called’ the Bingo all afternoon.

Jaimee P6 said “I enjoyed playing games”.

Rocco (P6) said, “I enjoyed playing games. My favourite game was  the beetle drive”.

Investigating our Senses

This week, P5/6 have been exploring and investigating their five senses. The class approached this challenge as a science experiment. They discussed what was needed for their experiment, what their predictions would be, and reviewed the method for how they would conduct their experiment. Each child took great care in recording their results and writing about how they felt the experiment had gone. Many were shocked to find that their predictions were mostly incorrect. This then led to a discussion about what happens when one sense is removed.

Check out the link below to view some fantastic photos from their experiment! This is a great opportunity for you to discuss this exciting activity with your child and inspire them to try it at home!

Senses Experiments

Weeks 1-3 in P5/6

Please see the attached link to view the photos that have been taken over these first few weeks. Activities we have explored so far include outdoor learning for numeracy and IDL, we have been outside to investigate our senses and what happens to the body when each child does not have full use of all five senses, and the class has participated in the smoothie bike.
