We have been carrying out lots of different activities as part of settling into our new class. One of these activities involved going outdoors and creating a stone representation of our family.

We enjoyed this and hopefully we will be able to use these skills in the future.
Primary 7 have been learning about The United Nations Convention On The Rights Of The Child. We discussed the rights that we thought were important to us in school and then we created our own class charter based on these rights.
We also discussed which rights we thought were most important to us. On the Open Afternoon we ranked our rights with our parents to see if we could agree on an order of priority.
We designed our own classrooms based on meeting our rights such as the right to play and rest and the right to a good quality education.
On Friday 22nd September Primary 7 visited Dumfries High School for the day. We were learning all about the risks associated with social media and the right to the protection of our privacy (article 16).
We discussed the dangers of social media and what we can do to keep ourselves safe.
We split into small groups and each group had to create and perform a short role-play scenario associated with different social media platforms.
We learnt a rap all about social media also.
During lunch time the school captains took us to the gym hall for a game of dodgeball.
After lunch we went back to the drama studio to rehearse our play and at 2pm our parents came to watch our performance. We were all a little nervous but we did really well and really enjoyed our day!
Throughout the day we had a chance to develop our communication, team work, performance and resilience skills.
On Wednesday night a group of children from Primary 6 and Primary 7 represented Heathhall School at the Regional Relay Race competition. All showed great determination and sportsmanship throughout and one of our teams competing in the Boys race won a bronze medal in a very tough competition. Well done to everyone who took part! ⭐️🥉
