After School Coding Club

The Young Digital Leaders ran an exciting after school Coding Club for Primary 4 children.

Each week the Digital Leaders led different activities for the Primary 4 children to investigate.

They worked with Micro;bits, Mice, Botleys, Make Code and Lego Spike.

All of the children had fun and developed their Coding Skills.

World Book Day

Heathhall Primary School celebrated World Bok Day.

Primary 7 participated in a variety of fun activities throughout the day.

We worked alongside Primary 1 to make bookmarks and then all took part in a reading book quiz.

We then created our own character for a small book story which we wrote. we used the iPads to animate our character,

Reading Fun

We went outside to work on our reading activities.

We designed a new book cover for our books and created our own blurb. we then shared a summary and predicted what we thought would happen next. We used descriptive vocabulary to sum up our thoughts on the books so far.

Tinkercad

Primary 7 have been learning all about 3D shape. We have constructed models inside and outside, looked for 3D shapes in the environment around us and identified the properties of different 3D shapes.

We transferred some of this work onto Tinkercad using our technology and creativity skills.

Lego Spike

We have loved working with the new Lego Spike kits which we were able to purchase as a result of receiving a grant from DRAX.

The children have been able to work collaboratively in order to develop their creativity, teamwork and technology skills. They have constructed a variety of different models and the operated these from the iPads using their coding skills.
