A group of P6 Pupils from Kells and Dalry participated in the Active Games which was held at Dumfries High School on Friday 12th September. They joined up to play in the football festival that was run by the SFA Development Officer plus Active Schools. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were a credit to both schools.
Murray and Stewart were selected to play in the Glenkens Cluster team at the annual Soccer Sevens tournament in Dumfries. This year the group stages were held at Palmerston Park, home of Queen of the South FC. Unfortunately the team did not qualify for the next stages of the competition, but they enjoyed the experience of playing on Queen’s new 3G pitch. Well done!
John Allison from Active Schools, in partnership with Tesco, has been providing weekly coaching sessions for the P1-4 pupils. The pupils have been enjoying the sessions and their ball skills are improving. Cosmas took some action shots for the blog –
Kells participated in the Paul Jones B League at Dalry School on Monday 28th May. Kells finished in 4th place overall with 11 points. Unfortunately it was not good enough for a place in the B League Final, but they played well and more importantly enjoyed the experience. Well done to all the pupils involved!
