Burns Supper

Kells Pupils’ Tribute to the Bard

Kells Primary held their annual Burns Supper recently. The evening was hosted by primary seven pupils. Guests, pupils, staff, parents and families were treated to speeches and entertainment provided by P5, P6 and P7 pupils. Rory delivered the welcome address and introduced the guests and speakers. The Selkirk Grace was recited by all four P7 pupils. Finlay carried in the haggis to the skirl o’ the pipes played by Glen Cunningham. This was followed by the P7 pupils reciting the Address To A Haggis. P5 and P6 pupils helped serve haggis, neeps and tatties to the guests. After the supper, Jasmin delivered the Immortal Memory. The Toast to the Lassies was presented by Murray. Bronnen made the reply on behalf of the lassies. After the traditional speeches, P5-7 pupils recited Scots verse and sang the Iona Boat Song and the Island Spinning Song. A very enjoyable evening was concluded with everyone singing Auld Lang Syne.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the Burns Supper.
