In March P1-3 visited a local dairy farm as part of their topic. The visit to Littleton farm at gatehouse was organised by RHET. The children had a marvellous time learning about feeding cows, looking after calves, the milking parlour and even got to talk with some vets who arrived to see to a sick cow. The farmer, Robert, guided the children around the farm, talking about the different sheds, how the parlour worked and showed the children his wind turbine. The class had lunch at the Wild Goat Park, where they fed some goats carrots. After lunch the class went to the Deer Range. Hugh brought 4 hinds for the class to feed an talked about how the animals are looked after. The children then got to look at different antlers. Many thank to RHET an Forestry Commission Scotland.
