After learning about French Christmas traditions, Primary 6 & 7 held a French Christmas party. They enjoyed playing Twister with the caller giving the instructions in French. This was followed by a buffet where the children tasted croissants, pain au chocolat, baguette with cherry jam and buche de noel with hot chocolate or fruit juice to drink. After, the children made a Christmas card which they gave to someone in their class. During the party the children had left their shoes in the corridor and, when they went to put them back on at home time, Pere Noel had left sweets in their shoes (a French tradition where children leave a shoe by the fireplace for Father Christmas to place sweets in. It was a fun filled afternoon. Thank you to Mrs McGill for helping with our research and pronunciation, particularly hand (main), foot (pied), left (gauche) and right (droit)
