Bye Bye Bobby!

A huge thankyou to our Lollipop Man, Bobby, who hangs up his crossing patrol jacket and Lollipop today. He is retiring from this post and we wish him health and happiness for the future. Thankyou from keeping all the boys and girls at Hecklegirth safe over the years.

New Leaders for our Learning Council

Congratulations to Tyler Graham and Sarah Latimer who will be our new Learning Council leaders.  This is the new name for the Pupil Council and we hope to get one pupils from each class to join us and help Hecklegirth aim high! Posters are up around the school and we will drop into classes soon to find out if you would like to come along to our group interviews to help us find the group of learners who work best together to come up with ideas and solutions.

Welcome to our 17/18 blog- a message from the Headteacher.

Welcome back everyone. it is lovely to be back in school following my secondment and getting reacquainted with staff, pupils and families once again. It has been a hectic start to the term and I am delighted to say we have already identified who will be our Captains and Vice Captains for the coming year (see above).

Multicultural Week

Help!

As part of our Multicultural Week (Week beginning 12th June) we would like everyone in school (staff included!) to bring in a pebble or stone please.  Can you please begin to bring them in as soon as possible so that we have everyone sorted for the 12th of June? Please bring them to either Mrs. Bell or Mrs. Mahon.

Thank you!

Active Schools “Fun Fives” Netball Tournament

Well done to everyone who participated at this years competition, held in our school grounds. It was great to see so many children enjoying themselves,  giving it their all. It was also very nice to see so many parents and friends from all schools cheering the children on (in the sunshine!!!)

A special “well done” to our Hecklegirth team (and their coach, Mrs. Foster) who finished runners up after playing some superb netball on their road to the final. Well done, girls!

Our thanks to Active Schools for yet another well-run event.
