As promised, here is a selection of photos of the afternoon children enjoying all the different activities on our recent visit to Farmer’s Den. I have included a photo of their teddies too so the boys and girls can see if they can spot their teddy having a little rest after chasing those bubbles. Click then click again for a closer look.

Farmer’s Den Fun
We would like to say a huge thank you to the HFA for paying for all the Nursery children to have a session at Farmer’s Den to celebrate our year in Nursery. Not only did the children run, jump and climb with boundless energy but they enjoyed a snack with their teddies and took some time out to draw and build when they needed a little rest. Those special teddies also had great fun trying to catch the bubbles from the bubble machine that was turned on after our little picnic so it was a busy day for all. I wonder if anyone can spot their teddy having a little rest on the settee in one of our photos?
Thank you to all those who have contributed to the HFA fundraising activities this year as you helped the Nursery children have a super session at Farmer’s Den. These photos show the morning children having fun. Photos of the afternoon session will be posted soon.
Police Station Visit
Isaac and his Mummy enjoyed the visit to the police station:
“We had a great time at the police station. Isaac especially liked switching the sirens on and off in the van.”
Those sirens and the blue lights were very popular!
Wonderful Trip
Paulina’s Mum left a comment about our visit to the police station:
“Thank you I could be a part of this wonderful trip to the police. It was very lovely time with children. Monika (Paulina’s mum)”
Thank you very much for coming with us. We couldn’t manage trips out to our community without all our parent helpers.
Afternoon Visit to the Police Station
The Rainbow Room afternoon children showed great enthusiasm on their recent visit to the police station and enjoyed finding out all about a police officer’s job. Just like the morning children, they behaved beautifully and made us very proud of them all. Thank you again to those parents who helped to make this visit possible and to the staff at the police station who gave up their valuable time.

Police Visit
Thom’s family has been looking at our photos at the police station:
“We had a fabulous time at the police station, so pleased i could come along too. Thom liked the handcuffs best, he was amazed the Policeman let us look at them! All the Staff were brilliant with the children. Thom has been looking out for the cctv cameras in town and waving at the police!”
Thanks for helping us that day – it’s always lovely to have parents with us. There seemed to be a few children who enjoyed trying out the handcuffs. I wonder if the police officers have seen you waving Thom? I’m sure it will make their day if they do.
Police Station Visit
After a postponed visit last term, the Rainbow Room managed to get their visit to the police station last week as part of learning about our community. Everyone enjoyed watching life on the High Street through the CCTV cameras, had a good look in the cells, where some tried out the sleeping arrangements, and round the various areas of the police station. The police vans and cars provided great excitement especially once we were able to try out the sirens and blue flashing lights. As you can see, some of the children even had a little turn with the handcuffs.
Thank you so much to all the staff for showing such patience with the children and giving up their precious time. Thanks also to those parents who accompanied us on our outing. We all had a great visit. Here are the morning children on their visit. We will post photos of the afternoon children soon.

Transition Visit
The children who will soon be making the transition to Primary 1 at Hecklegirth have had another visit to the P1 classrooms to become familiar with their new environments. As you can see, they settled in well and were confident to try out a range of activities including, in some instances, having their snack in Primary 1. Everyone is looking forward to their next visit.
Recent Events
Dylan’s family has been looking at some of our recent posts on the visit to church and the Big Pedal Week:
“Dylan really enjoyed his visit to the church, he fair talked about when he went up the steps with Luca and the bird garden that he saw x”
“This(Big Pedal Week) has been a great idea, was great to see so many children and parents out on their bikes and scooters, taking part, it has certainly encouraged Dylan to be out on his bike more and helping build his confidence x”
It’s great to hear that Dylan has been enjoying recent events in Nursery. It was lovely to see lots of bikes and scooters being brought in that week. Let’s hope that lots of you keep up with your cycling and scooting especially as the warmer weather hopefully starts to appear. The more you practise the better you get.
Sunshine Church Visit
The Sunshine Room children had their visit to Rev. McGougan’s church last week and enjoyed learning all about the church and what happens there. Everyone was interested in the beautiful Noah’s ark so Rev. McGougan has kindly arranged to come in to Nursery to talk to the children about the story. Thanks again to all those parents who accompanied us on our visit and to Rev. McGougan for giving us so much of his time. We look forward to his visit soon.
