School Sports

Joshua and Nancy’s family enjoyed the photos of the children practising for their Fun Activity Day.
“Nancy enjoyed practicing for sports day very much ๐Ÿ˜€.”

“Joshua loved practicing for sports day. He was pleased he got to join in the p1 race. He told us all about ย it at home ๐Ÿ˜Š x”

The children did seem to enjoy all the practising on the school field and it was lovely for those moving to Primary 1 at Hecklegirth to be able to join in the school sports for a race and to cheer on their family and friends in their races. Here are a few photos of them at the school sports. Well done all of you for showing great confidence in a new situation.

Word Of The Week

As we look forward to our whole school Health Week, with lots of fun activities planned for everyone, our “Word of the Week” this week will be ‘healthy. Hopefully we will have a better understanding of what it means to be healthy at the end of this week as well as feeling happy and healthy after taking part inย the variousย activities.

Open Evening

We would like to remind you that Monday 14th May is our whole school Open Evening. Nursery will be open from 3.30 – 5.30 for any parents/carers who would like to pop in for a chat and to have a look at their child’s “special book”. We look forward to seeing you then if you are available to come along. Please remember that your child’s book is also available every day for you to look at and staff are happy to chat to you if you have concerns or queries.

Lots Of Fun

Here is a group of Primary 6 children helping the afternoon children with their bunny designs at the end of term. If you would like to see all the bunnies together, have a look on the Nursery wall after the holiday. We think that they make a great display to reflect yet another super time together. Thank you Primary 6 for all your help.

Bunnies And Buddies

Our Primary 6 buddies continued their super work in the Nursery in the last week of term, enjoying an art activity with our children. Marshmallows, toothbrushes and glitter were the tools used to decorate their bunnies and the older pupils chatted to our children as they made their choices about colour and design. This gallery shows the morning children all busy at work. We will post some photos of the afternoon children working with Primary 6 soon.

Well Done Bethany

Thank you to everyone who entered the decorated egg competition this week. Here is the happy winner of the Nursery and Primary 1 section. Well done Bethany! There were a lot of eggs in the competition so you did very well to be chosen as the winner and we hope that you enjoy your prize. Congratulations to all the entrants who produced some super decorated eggs.

Eggcellent Eggs

What a lot of fantastic eggs appeared from our Nursery children this week for the decorated boiled egg competition! It was great to see that children and their families have worked together at home on this fun Easter activity and the Nursery/Primary 1 tables are full of lots of creative ideas. Well done to everyone who took the time to enter the competition. We are not sure yet who the winner is but we think that all your eggs are wonderful!

Easter Egg Competition

We hope that lots of our children will take part in this week’s competition to hard boil and decorate an egg. Entries can be brought in to Nursery on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th March to add to the whole school display. There will be prizes for the best egg in various groups and ours will be in the Nursery and Primary 1 section. Adults have their own section so the grown ups in your family can have a go too. Have fun decorating your eggs everyone – we look forward to seeing them soon.
