Moving to Primary 1

Rohan’s Dad has commented on one of our graduation photos:

“This is a lovely picture. Rohan has thoroughly enjoyed his 2 years at Hecklegirth Nursery and he will miss everyone as he moves into P1”.

We will miss all the children leaving Nursery too. Good luck to those going into Primary 1. We look forward to hearing about your progress.

Thank You

Skye’s Mum has left a comment at the end of her time in Nursery:

“Thank you to all the teachers at Hecklegirth Nursery for all your work with Skye. She has enjoyed her time with you all and is now looking forward to starting Primary 1 at Hecklegirth xx”

We hope that Skye enjoys Primary 1 and we look forward to hearing about her progress.

Thank You

Neve and Finlay’s families have left lovely comments for us as their children leave Nursery ready for the next step to Primary 1.

“Can’t believe it was Neve’s final day at nursery today. The last two years have flown by and I just wanted to thank all the amazing staff in nursery, for all the great work they do with the children. During the last two years Neve has learnt so much and is now ready for her next step into Primary 1. Hope all the staff have a lovely summer and a well deserved rest. Thank you again. Neve’s Mummy. X”

“I would just like to say a big thank you to all the lovely and amazing nursery staff who has taught Finlay for the last year, You all do a brilliant job with the children and I know Finlay will certainly miss you all, Finlay said he will come and visit when he is in Primary 1 so there is no escaping him. We hope you all have a lovely summer holiday. Love from Finlay’s Mummy and Daddy.X”

Thank you so much for everyone’s kind comments and thoughts in the past few days. We have had a wonderful year with you all, children and parents alike, and will miss you. We hope that you all have a lovely holiday with your families.

Graduation Congratulations

Finlay’s family would like to pass on their congratulations to you all on your performance at our recent graduation:

“A big well done to all the boys and girls on their graduation, you all sang and danced beautifully. Good luck to the boys and girls who will be going into P1 after the summer.”

We wish good luck to those moving on to P1 too. We’re sure you’ll have great fun and will continue to be fantastic learners.

Final Day Adventure

After lots of busy days with graduation and whole school celebrations as well, of course, as the visit from the Cornet and Cornet’s Lass, we eventually found time on the very last day of the year to return to Ollie’s allotment to check on the potatoes we had planted. It may officially be summer but we still needed wellies and suits in the rain for our little adventure.
As you can see, the children were delighted to find that their potatoes had grown. Hopefully, each of the children who chose to go to the allotment took a potato home to show their families. Thank you so much to Ollie’s family for providing us with this opportunity. It’s been great fun and a good learning experience. Sorry if your supply of potatoes will be depleted this summer.

Graduation Smiles

How proud we all were of the children at our graduation ceremony on Friday as they sang and danced to celebrate the end of their year in Nursery. Sometimes the children can become a little shy when faced with an audience but the 100 plus family members who came to watch them, in both the morning and afternoon, were entertained by confident, happy little performers. We hope that you were also impressed with the confident manner in which the children walked on stage to shake hands and receive their certificates. The children had been so excited to perform for their families and they certainly did not disappoint.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our little ceremony and for all your support throughout the year.

Finlay Enjoyed the Coastguard’s Visit

Finlay’s Mum liked the photo of him trying on the lifejacket when the coastguard came to talk to us:

“Finlay said he had great fun when the coastguard came to visit, Finlay came home singing a song about the sea, I asked him who taught him that!, he said “The Coastguard, he told us to keep safe”. Finlay Certainly looks as though he had fun when trying on the lifejacket.”

The children were very interested in the coastguard’s advice and, as you can see from their comments, they had some good ideas about staying safe near water.

Hecklegirth Gardeners

We have a message from Ollie’s Dad about the potatoes we planted at their allotment:

“Boys and girls. Just to let you know the potatoes you all planted have started to shoot so please pop by for a visit. Not quite ready for picking yet.”

Well done everyone! You are turning into expert gardeners.

Farmer’s Den

Corey’s Mum made a comment on one of the photos from our recent summer outing:

“Corey had a brilliant time at the cinema and farmers den thank you to all the staff for giving the kids a lovely treat”

Amelia from Primary 6 also commented on our outing:

“It seems as if my amazing buddy Nate enjoyed it at farmers den !”

They certainly did seem to enjoy their day and everyone behaved beautifully.
