Nursery turned into a world of superheroes on Friday as the children dressed up in various outfits to support Primary 2’s Superhero Day in aid of the charity Shelter. Thank you to all those parents who took the time to help their children dress up and for your kind donations. Nursery raised £24.02 to add to Primary 2’s collection which will be much appreciated.

Happy Days
Thank you to those parents who leave comments on the blog. We love to hear from you all. Kenny’s family liked the photos at the library on World Book Day:
“Looking very engrossed Kenny! “
Kacey’s family has been enjoying the Red Nose Day faces:
“Wow, what a lot of funny faces for Red Nose Day!”
We love those funny faces too. It’s great that so many children took part. Thanks to everyone for participating.
Red Nose Day
Dress in red and make your faces funny was the Hecklegirth challenge on Red Nose Day and the Nursery children took part with great enthusiasm. Thank you to Joe’s Mum for providing the frame which produced some super photos. Thank you also to everyone who gave a donation on the day – the Nursery children raised £49.32. We hope you enjoy these happy faces.

Hamper Winners
We would like to thank everyone who donated prizes to the Nursery red hampers as part of our school and Nursery fundraising activity. Your generosity has overwhelmed us as we were able to make four large hampers from all your donations. It was amazing the range of red gifts that we received. The prize winning sheets were sold by Willow, Joe H., Fay and Eden so well done to those prize winners. Mollie was also lucky enough to win the bonus book hamper. We hope that you enjoy your lovely hampers and thank all those who contributed through donations and by selling squares. We appreciate your support.
Sticky Kids Christmas Show
Great fun and laughter was had by all at the “Sticky Kids” show this week. It was lovely to join children from other local nurseries in a super Christmas celebration of singing and dancing. As you can see, several of our children showed great confidence to go on stage as part of the show and everyone sang enthusiastically along with all the songs. Thank you to all those families who contributed to the children’s calendar enterprise project which paid for this show. We really appreciate your support and the children all had a brilliant time.

Christmas Enterprise
Thank you to everyone who has placed an order for calendars. The children have been working hard to make all the orders to help raise money for their Christmas party and the “Sticky Kids” show and some calendars are now being sent home. We hope that, at £2.50, you feel that this is a bargain present for family members and we are delighted that we currently have orders worth over £250 which will pay for the show and help towards the cost of our party. We would like to thank you very much for supporting the children to take part in this enterprise project.
Children In Need
Thank you to all those who contributed to our Children in Need non-uniform day. Some went with the superhero theme and others simply enjoyed wearing something different. We are delighted to say that Nursery raised £65 as part of a grand total of £264 raised by Hecklegirth School so thank you very much to everyone who contributed.
Children In Need
We would like to remind you that we are having an non-uniform day tomorrow (14th November) for Children in Need. The theme is super heroes but the children can dress as they like. A donation would be appreciated towards this worthy cause. We look forward to seeing what the children choose to wear.
Calendars For Christmas
This week seems to have brought lots of orders to the calendar factory and the children have been working like busy little Christmas elves to make them. If your order is not yet complete, it may be that we are still waiting to get a group photo that you’ve ordered as we obviously can’t take it if some children in the group are absent. Sophie must have made a good job of her order as her Mum said,
“sophie.s enjoyed making her calendars we ordered 2 so she could give one to her nana and papa for there Christmas. they are lovely and well worth the 2.50”
Well done Sophie. We hope Nana and Papa love your calendar.
Last Chance To Order
Thank you to everyone who has placed an order for calendars. The children have been working hard to make all the orders to help raise money for their Christmas party and many of you should now have your calendars. We would like to remind you that this is the last week to place your orders and we hope that, at £2.50, you feel that this is a bargain present for family members.
