Activity Bags Library

story-sackWe would like to remind you that tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd November, is the first day for our activity bags “library”. The bags will be given out from the Family Learning room opposite the school hall.
If your child attends morning sessions you can collect a bag at the end of the session from Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator. The bag should then be returned the following Tuesday at the start of the morning session. Please leave the returned bag on your child’s peg and Eileen will collect it from there.
If your child attends Nursery in the afternoon you can collect a bag when you bring your child at the start of the session. You should bring your bag to the Family Learning room when you collect a new one.
If you would like an activity bag but can’t collect on a Tuesday please let Eileen know and she will try to make alternative arrangements.

Delicious Vegetables

Two of our families are pleased to see the photos of the children trying different vegetables in the snack area.

“Good girl Chloe. Mummy and daddy are really pleased you like lots of different vegetables. These look delicious.”

“Nice to see Owen trying red pepper. He loves breadsticks!”

The snack area is always popular and it is encouraging when we see the children happy to try different types of foods.

Operation Christmas Child

We would like to remind you that anyone who wishes to donate the gift of a Christmas shoebox should bring them in to Nursery by this Friday, 11th November. Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project and your kind donations will be sent to needy children who will undoubtedly be delighted with your gifts. Thank you so much to those families who have already donated a shoebox, it is greatly appreciated. Here are some of the children with their boxes ready to be collected.

Happy Families

We have had more lovely comments on the recent Family Learning activities.

“Harvey (M) and I really enjoyed this make and take session and look forward to doing some more!”

“Joshua (H) loved this day doing make & take. I enjoyed it myself also, getting to spend a little bit of time with Joshua making things & seeing how much he enjoys doing things like this at nursery. Thank you for that opportunity.”

“The leaf lantern and chocolate sparklers were really easy to make and we have made lots of chocolate sparklers at home!😋
Thank you Eileen for this session we really enjoyed it.”

I spoke to Eileen today about all the positive comments that had been posted about her activities and she is very grateful for all the lovely feedback so thank you to everyone. She is doing these activities in another school this week so we hope that they enjoy themselves as much as Hecklegirth families did.

What Fun!

Noah and Joshua H’s families have left comments on our photos showing the children with sparklers.

“What fun there is to be had in nursery!”

“Joshua looks like he’s concentrating on something. Great to see the fun & safety of sparklers.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave us comments. The children really did enjoy the sparklers and listened well to all the discussions about staying safe.

Thank You

Olivia’s family enjoyed Eileen’s activities on Friday:

“Thank you Eileen, we had a fabulous time! The leaf lamp takes pride of place on our fire place. We also made a huge batch of chocolate sparklers today that Olivia gave out to her family to celebrate bonfire night, although ate quite a few herself!! 🙂”

These chocolate sparklers seem to have been very popular. That was a nice idea Olivia to make them for your family – I’m sure they enjoyed them as much as you did.

Happy Friends

Bethany and Quinn’s families have been looking at the photos of Hallowe’en.

“Bethany loves dressing up and looks happy with the other kids. She loves coming to nursery”

“Too cute! The 3 amigos. We are so proud of the friendships Quinn is forming at nursery. Xx”

It is lovely to see the children growing in confidence and developing friendships.
