Tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd May, is the second PEEP learning together activity where Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has promised testing of different kinds of play dough including soap dough and making some dough to take home. Everyone is welcome to join in so why not try it out from 9-10 or 12.15-1.15?
Here are the children and adults busy with their drawing and writing activity last week.

Action Shot
Olivia’s family likes the photo of her trying out the hose at the fire station:
“What a great action shot! After initially being unsure about going to the fire station Olivia was delighted to tell us all about her go with the hose and her favourite part, poor Mrs Kirkpatrick getting soaked!! 😃”
We’re glad you enjoyed your visit Olivia and were confident to try out the hose. It was great fun for everyone.
Sunflowers
Quinn’s family has been looking at the photos of the children planting their sunflower seeds:
“Quinn said she had a great time doing the sunflower. It has grown lots and has already had to be repotted. Xx”
It’s great news that it’s grown lots already Quinn. You must be looking after it well. I wonder what size it will grow to?
Family Learning
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has left a message for everyone:
“Thanks to everyone who came along to the Peep learning Together Family sessions today. This session was all about names – our names and our children’s names. I think the children really enjoyed writing their names and drawing pictures in the rainbow salt trays. The story today was about a visit to the Zoo and our favourite animals.
Next week we will be testing different kinds of play dough, including soap dough and making some play dough to take home. All welcome – come and join us.”
This sounds like a lot of fun! I have some photos from earlier today and hope to post them on the blog in the near future. Next PEEP session will be on Tuesday of next week if you like the sound of these type of activities and want to join in.
Funny Face
Vinnie’s family has been looking at the photos of the children on the tractor:
“Look at Vinnies funny face!!”
Yes, that is a good face Vinnie – I didn’t notice that when putting lots of photos on. It certainly looks like you were having fun.
Parents Early Education Partnership
We would like to remind everyone that the PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership) sessions with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, start tomorrow Tuesday 25th April. They will be held in Eileen’s room at 9-10 and 12.15-1.15. Further sessions will be on the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May. We hope that those taking part enjoy these sessions.
George the Lamb
Lily’s family has been looking at the photos of our RHET visit. They liked the photo of the girls on the tractor: “Aww lovely photo of Lily and Francesca!”
The photos with the lamb have also caught their eye:
“Lily has been telling me all about ‘George the lamb’ and how he gets milk from his mummy! She also says he’s 1month old??!”
I’m not sure that George is quite as young as that but he is a pet lamb still being looked after by Mrs. Ker.
What a Great Day
Callum’s family has been looking at the photos from our RHET visit last week.
“WOW what a great day it was. Callum came home buzzing. He absolutely loved having the Massey Ferguson at Nursery. Farmer for the future, I think so😉.”
“Aw love this photo of Callum with the lamb. He is very good with animals. I can’t believe the size of the lamb he said, it’s just a a baby”
It was a great day. We’re glad to hear that Callum enjoyed it so much.
Great Photos
Ava’s family has been looking at the photos of the children enjoying Big Pedal Fun Day:
“Ava really enjoyed the big pedal fun day. She was telling all the family all about it. Great photos of all the children.”
It’s lovely to hear that Ava enjoyed herself. I hope that you can get out on your scooter in the holidays Ava.
Bird Watching
Quinn and Harvey M’s families have been enjoying the photos of the visit by Kirsty from RSPB:
“This made me laugh as Quinn said she was watching birds through a telescope…..after some probing questions we discovered she meant binoculars. Xx”
“Harvey loves looking out for birds. Hes always feeding the birds that come to the garden at Granny’s house!”
I hope that you are all going to keep an eye out for different birds in the holidays. I wonder if you might see some that are different to the ones we see in the Nursery garden?
