Rudolph’s Nose Part two

Mollie’s Mum left a comment to say how much she and Mollie enjoyed Eileen’s Family Learning activity:

“Mollie loved making the Christmas decorations, they are all sitting proudly on our tree, even Rudolph’s lollipop nose is still intact! Thank you once again Eileen!”

It seems amazing that these lollipops are not getting eaten. Well done Mollie! Eileen has sent me these photos of some of you with your finished decorations and you all look pleased with your efforts. There must be some lovely Christmas trees in the Annan area this year.

Family Fun

Thanks must go again to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for providing super Christmas activities for children and their families to enjoy together. When I called in to the Family Room, there were owl decorations and angels on the go and they certainly looked like good fun. No doubt they will brighten up your Christmas trees.
It’s lovely to see lots of families participating, despite everyone being so busy at this time of year, and we really appreciate Eileen offering these sessions. Watch this space next term for more Family Learning activities.

Family Christmas Crafts

We would like to remind you that our Family Learning Christmas craft activities will be running on Monday and Tuesday of this week (7th and 8th December). Those who have requested a place, should initially make their way to the Family Room then Eileen will collect the children from Nursery when you are ready for them. We hope that you and the children enjoy these festive activities.

Story, Rhyme and Number Bags

Story, rhyme and number bags will be given out from this Tuesday 3rd November to those who would like them. These bags are designed to encourage your child to enjoy reading and numbers. Each story/rhyme bag has a book and a game or puppets connected to the story/rhyme. The number bags contain a game.
If your child attends morning Nursery sessions you can collect a bag at the end of the session from Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, in the Family Learning room opposite the school hall. Those attending Nursery in the afternoon can collect bags at the start of a session. Bags can be kept at home for a week and exchanged the following Tuesday. If anyone can spare twenty minutes to help Eileen check the bags, it would be much appreciated. We hope that lots of our families will join in with the activity bags “library”.

Family Learning Photos

Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has left us a comment:

“It was great to meet/catch up with everyone at the Time for Rhyme sessions last Friday. Photo’s from the sessions are on the Family Learning Notice board”

Paulina’s Mum and Dad are proud of her photo taking part in the Time for Rhyme activity:

“Our big girl – well done “

Eileen’s notice board is in the corridor on the way in to Nursery so have a look as her photos will be different to the ones on the blog.

Rhyme Fun

Two of our families have commented on how much they enjoyed the Family Learning activity.

“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be involved with some family learning fun, myself and Dylan really enjoyed making the rhyme bags and props :-), he has been having great fun using the props and singing the rhymes to his little sister. Xx”

“We had a lovely time at Eileen’s session, Thom has been showing everyone his “Incy wincy Spider. Looking forward to the next one!”

It looked like everyone was enjoying themselves. Great to hear that the children have been using their rhyme props at home.

Family Rhyme Time

Friday saw our first Family Learning event of the year and we are delighted that a good number of children and their families chose to take part. Nursery rhymes was the theme and everyone seemed to have good fun with scissors, glue and singing lots of different rhymes. Thank you to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for organising this great activity – everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Here are some of the children busy with their families.

Time for Rhyme

Please remember that tomorrow (Friday) sees our first Family Learning event of the year. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has organised “Time For Rhyme” sessions for you and your child to decorate rhyme bags and make some rhyme ‘props’. These sessions are 9-10 or 10.45-11.45 and 12.15-1.15 or 2-3 in the Family Room across from the school hall. We hope that you all have fun.

Time For Rhyme

We would like to draw your attention to our first Family Learning event of the year on Friday 4th September. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, is planning “Time For Rhyme” sessions for you and your child to decorate rhyme bags and make some rhyme ‘props’.
A letter will be in your child’s tray in Nursery this week explaining Family Learning to everyone and you can sign up for the sessions, if you wish, on the grids on display on the Family Learning board in the Nursery corridor. We hope that lots of families take the opportunity to join in this fun activity.
