Play Dough with PEEP

Tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd May, is the second PEEP learning together activity where Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has promised testing of different kinds of play dough including soap dough and making some dough to take home. Everyone is welcome to join in so why not try it out from 9-10 or 12.15-1.15?
Here are the children and adults busy with their drawing and writing activity last week.

Family Learning

Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has left a message for everyone:

“Thanks to everyone who came along to the Peep learning Together Family sessions today. This session was all about names – our names and our children’s names. I think the children really enjoyed writing their names and drawing pictures in the rainbow salt trays. The story today was about a visit to the Zoo and our favourite animals.
Next week we will be testing different kinds of play dough, including soap dough and making some play dough to take home. All welcome – come and join us.”

This sounds like a lot of fun! I have some photos from earlier today and hope to post them on the blog in the near future. Next PEEP session will be on Tuesday of next week if you like the sound of these type of activities and want to join in.

Parents Early Education Partnership

We would like to remind everyone that the PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership) sessions with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, start tomorrow Tuesday 25th April. They will be held in Eileen’s room at 9-10 and 12.15-1.15. Further sessions will be on the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May. We hope that those taking part enjoy these sessions.

Fantastic Time

Quinn’s family has been looking at some of our photos. Quinn has been telling them about her recent visit to Tesco:

“Quinn had a fantastic time and has told us all about it at home. I asked if it was fun and she said “awesome”. The chocolate pancakes sound good and she loved scanning her shopping. Xx”

They did all enjoy scanning the cereal boxes and the pancakes seemed to taste even better because we saw them being made. Quinn’s family also enjoyed last week’s Family Learning activity:

“We had a great time making easter crafts. Its a great idea and we enjoy doing it especially when Isaac can come and play with Quinn. Xx”

Eileen will be delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Easter crafts. It is lovely that we can have little sisters and brothers joining in. Eileen’s next plan is to offer the PEEP sessions starting next term – everyone has a letter in their trays explaining what they are about so we hope that some of our families will be able to take part.

Easter Crafts

A few more families joined Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, on Friday to make Easter crafts and they seemed to have good fun, just like those earlier in the week. Here you can see them busy making Easter bowls and pop-up bunnies. Thank you, as always, to Eileen for a great family activity session and to all those parents and grandparents who took part.

Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP)

Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP)

PEEP learning together family sessions are fun and include talk time for parents/carers then the children will join you for stories, songs, and activities.  The activities are designed to support your child’s early learning and development and will be run by Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator.

Unlike the ‘one-off’ sessions Eileen offers, e.g. Easter, Christmas make and take, PEEP is a weekly course.

PEEP will start after the Easter holiday on a Tuesday morning from 9 – 10* and Tuesday afternoon from  12.15 – 1.15*. Dates are as follows:

Tuesday 25th April
Tuesday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May.

The number Eileen can take on the course is limited so, if you would like to join, please let her know as soon as possible so that she can add your name to her list. Nursery staff can pass on a message or give you Eileen’s contact number.

*If you are interested, but the day/times do not suit please let Eileen know.

Family Easter Crafts

Tuesday saw the first Family Learning sessions to make Easter bowls and pop-up bunnies. It was lovely to see Mums, Dads, aunties and grandparents all joining the children, as well as little brothers and sisters, for the ‘make and take’ activities.
Thank you to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for providing a super activity for families to enjoy together and thank you also to everyone who came along. The next sessions are on Friday 17th March at 9.00-9.45 or 2.15 – 3.00. We hope that you have fun.

Family Learning

We would like to remind you that Eileen’s Family Learning Easter craft sessions are this week on Tuesday, 14th March and Friday 17th March when you can come along to make Easter bowls and pop-up bunnies which sounds like fun.
If you have put your name down for the 11.00 or 2.15 slots, please use the front door of the school and come to the Family Learning room. Those coming at other times can call in after dropping their child off at Nursery.

Toothtastic Tuesday Part Two

As promised, here are photos of the afternoon children enjoying the Toothtastic Tuesday activities. They listened well and hopefully learned about how to look after their teeth from avoiding sugary foods and drinks to the best way to clean their teeth and what happens at the dentist.
Thank you to all those parents who joined us for these activities and for your valuable feedback. Thank you also to Eileen, Jacqueline and Nikki for their time and effort to provide the children with fun and learning. You should all have an information pack for home in your child’s tray. We hope that this answers some of the questions that your feedback highlighted.
