Play Dough with PEEP

Tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd May, is the second PEEP learning together activity where Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has promised testing of different kinds of play dough including soap dough and making some dough to take home. Everyone is welcome to join in so why not try it out from 9-10 or 12.15-1.15?
Here are the children and adults busy with their drawing and writing activity last week.

New Term

We hope that everyone has enjoyed their holidays with their families. You will no doubt have lots of tales to tell us when you return.
Nursery starts back tomorrow (Tuesday). Starting times are as normal – a soft start between 8.45 and 9.10 for the morning children and 12.15 in the afternoon. Details of upcoming events this term can be found on the “Dates for your Diary” link on the right under “Support Information”. As always, this will be updated as soon as any further dates are finalised.
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Happy Holidays

We hope that everyone is looking forward to a lovely Spring holiday with their family. Nursery is now closed until Tuesday 18th April but we still have some memories to share from last term so keep an eye on our blog for a few updates over the holidays. We hope that the sun shines over the next two weeks and that you all have a great break.

Get Your Red Nose Here

On Friday 24th March Primary 4 will be performing at assembly on the theme of Red Nose Day and they have suggested that children in school and Nursery could wear something red that day. They have also organised for red noses to be on sale for £1, if the children would like to contribute, and a box of red noses is now available in Nursery. Thank you to Primary 4 for your help. We hope that you raise lots of money for this worthwhile cause.

Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP)

Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP)

PEEP learning together family sessions are fun and include talk time for parents/carers then the children will join you for stories, songs, and activities.  The activities are designed to support your child’s early learning and development and will be run by Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator.

Unlike the ‘one-off’ sessions Eileen offers, e.g. Easter, Christmas make and take, PEEP is a weekly course.

PEEP will start after the Easter holiday on a Tuesday morning from 9 – 10* and Tuesday afternoon from  12.15 – 1.15*. Dates are as follows:

Tuesday 25th April
Tuesday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May.

The number Eileen can take on the course is limited so, if you would like to join, please let her know as soon as possible so that she can add your name to her list. Nursery staff can pass on a message or give you Eileen’s contact number.

*If you are interested, but the day/times do not suit please let Eileen know.

Family Learning

We would like to remind you that Eileen’s Family Learning Easter craft sessions are this week on Tuesday, 14th March and Friday 17th March when you can come along to make Easter bowls and pop-up bunnies which sounds like fun.
If you have put your name down for the 11.00 or 2.15 slots, please use the front door of the school and come to the Family Learning room. Those coming at other times can call in after dropping their child off at Nursery.

Class Photo

We would like to remind you that tomorrow, Friday 3rd March, is the day for class photos. These will be taken at around 10.30 and 12.45 so please bring your child to school for those times if he/she does not normally attend on a Friday but would like to be part of the class photo. Please use the main school entrance as the Nursery gate will be locked at that time.

Holiday

We would like to remind everyone that there will be no Nursery for the children on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of next week due to a mid-term holiday and two training days for staff. We hope that you all enjoy a few days off and look forward to seeing you on Thursday 16th February.

Nursery Enrolment

Please remember that Wednesday and Thursday (8th and 9th February) of this week are enrolment days for Nursery session 2017-18. Parents of returning children will need to complete a new form stating their preference of sessions for next year. Please note that those who have applied for a deferred year should complete a Nursery enrolment form unless they have made the final decision that their child will definitely go to school. In the event of deciding that you do not want a Nursery place, the Nursery application will simply be cancelled.
If your child is hoping for a place in Nursery in the next academic year, please come to the school office between 9.00 and 3.00 with your child’s birth certificate and proof of address to complete the enrolment. We look forward to seeing you there.
