The afternoon children recently experienced a dance workshop called “Experts In Short Trousers”. They had to use good listening skills to follow instructions and, as you can see, they worked hard and had good fun making their bodies into lots of different shapes.
Unfortunately this company could not offer us a morning slot but we think that they are running workshops in the October holidays for local children so keep your eyes peeled in the local press if your child might be interested.
There were some lovely smiles from last week’s award winners when they were presented with their certificates. Congratulations to you both!
Here are our first two award winners of the new year. Very well done to you both on your super start. So many boys and girls did really well in their first full week in Nursery that we feel sure that there are lots more certificates to come later in the term. Keep an eye on our blog for news of more award winners as the term progresses.
Most of the children have taken the opportunity of the lovely weather to explore the outdoor area so they are beginning to learn how to change their shoes and put on outdoor suits when required. Luckily the weather has been so warm that they have not been needed most days. Some children are developing their confidence on the big climbing frame, others have been designing roads or making magic potions in the mud kitchen. The outdoor area is certainly a very popular place to play.
It’s great to know that more of our families are enjoying having a look at our blog to see what the children have been doing. Another parent has left this comment on one of the photos:

It is surprising how quickly most of the children have settled into Nursery life. If your child has not quite settled yet, please do not worry about it as these are very early days. We, as adults, all cope differently in new situations and the children are the same. Please keep talking to us so that we can all work together to find the best way to help your child.

We’re glad you’re enjoying Nursery Callum and we have noticed that you enjoy outdoor play. It was exciting for you to chat to your sister today too when she was out in the school playground.

It has been great to see all the familiar faces from last year in our first two days of a new Nursery year and lovely to begin to get to know our new children and their families.
